Buy ATI, Get Half-Life 2

According to The Inquirer, an article reports that the all new ATI Radeon 9800XT high end R360 video cards will come bundled with Half-Life 2 (or part of it). It was also reported that ATI and Nvidia were battling in an auction for the bundle with HL2, but ATI came out standing as the winner. Here are quotes from the article:

not really, because according to (gabe newell?) you can upgrade from just the single player version to multiplayer/whatever, i think.

Probably you would have to pay much more compared to if you bought the SP version from retail. Most games bundled with video cards are just demos/uncompleted versions (if I remember correctly) and only a few are full games.



This looks like a marketing gimmick designed to convert the gaming community to HL2. Once they have tasted the game, albeit a small portion of it, they will rush to buy it either in stores or by Steam.

no the XT one is gonna be better. My friend works at ATI, and he said its not 9900 because the difference between XT and 9800 Pro isnt enough. Its just a little faster.
