I don't understand the trashing aswell.. It doesn't look that bad.. Infact I think it looks pretty good for the old HL engine

yeah it is, im not gonna bash the vid or the game. from the vid it looks "alright", but releasing CZ and HL2 near the same time of each other = WORST MOVE EVR!!!

Yes but in the time it's taken them to get this far, they could have made a whole brand new engine with much better graphics then the HL engine.

I have a question , is the plan still the same to update CS online with CZ stuff, cause that is the only part I am looking foward to , higher poly and more models/skins to choose from and better looking maps. I think they should explain to us again because who knows if they decided to change the original plan of updating cs with the models and textures.Comment

I'm under the impression that CS:CZ will be out before HL2 (but I honestly don't have a fucking clue), and news is saying right now (from interviews and such) that they are still shooting for a September 30th release (HL2 that is).
I mean why would they release a far superior game before the game with less hype, and worse graphics. They will sell copies of CZ either way, but it just seems that they will sell less if they release CZ after HL2.
Point being, the game is a lot closer to being finished then you are saying. I'm seeing -in store- dates posted, and where I'm from the games are usually pretty much set in stone if they post the dates in the store for everyone to see.
You can't really say anything about the graphics, look at the quality of the video. But if that video does say what the final game is going to be like in the gameplay department, i'll be disappointed.
The atmosphere and level design seems awesome, but the mechanics (AI, etc) will probably be what kills CZ.Comment

All the game stores round here (which is about 6) are saying that HL2 will actually be out sometime around Feb next year, though they could be wrong (I hope they are anyway), or maybe that's the PAL release or something (do PC games use the PAL/NTSC stuff like console games do?).

Who says HL2 will be 'superior'? For all we know it could turn out to be the biggest let-down in gaming history (apart from FFIX, TR:Angel Of Darkness and Enter The Matrix that is), and CZ could actually turn out to be amazingly good. Personally I think they'll both be shite, but I'm hardly Mr. Optimistic.

I am getting HL2, no matter what (except death or dismemberment). Whether or not I get HL2 has nothing to do with whether or not I get CZ. If I can get CZ for somewhere around $25 through Steam, I'll do that. Yes, the game has taken too long and engine is old. You know what? Go cry to your mommy. You know what else? CSX is essencially the same game as CZ, console fans. Why dont you bitch about that?Comment
