Half-Life Title Translator

A new little tool called "HL-Title Translator" by a fellow known as QWERTY was submitted to us. The program allows you to quickly and easily edit titles.txt for any Half-Life mod using a GUI frontend. If you ever had the desire to change the bomb plant message to "Th3 b0mb h4s b33n pl4nt3d" for hilarious results, now is your chance. It can be downloaded from this mirror. Here's what the nifty program looks like:

I can only image what adds are going to be like 5 years from now.



Btw.. this program seems pretty cool. I wonder if its steam compatible?

Anyway, the program looks okay but I'd be happy to just edit the text file.

anyways, yeah the prog looks fun and more convienent to use then to change the titles.txt, as for steam, i do not see a titles.txt in any mod folder, so im guessing it will not work.

how about they just dont make annoying adverts. ESPECIALLY adverts with sound. nobody buys products that annoy them, they should understand that, what with the millions that they spent every year on "marketting" and other satanic practices. the old sell-your-soul trick is a favourite too. i mean.. if i can figure out that an advert is annoying and doesnt make me want to buy something.. i think I'd be inclined to say exactly the same thing if I was getting paid £500 an hour to say it. but i guess thats why I dont plan on going into marketting.

thats exactly what they want you to do, post the ad on forums talking about how stupid it is then you, and other people say, im gonna check out this stupid crap. and there you go, they get their money's worth :|

But that's not the point. The point of adverts isn't to get tons of people to view the advert for the sake of watching it, the point of adverts is to get you to buy things; talking about how annoying they are on forums isn't getting the item sold, it's just getting more people to notice how annoying it is. Pop-up type ads just annoy the hell out of people. They don't sell the product well, therefore they're pointless.
