I guess that is what you would use for a LAN.

              of course.

and 1.7 when we travel, 1.8 when we're eating something, right? .

Theres something I'm finding particularly odd... people are generalizing Steam as CS 1.6. Its happened quite a few times in these comments and is even present on the official Steam board. Theres a stickied topic titled "Steam bug list 8/11" or some such and then it just goes on to list a bunch of CS bugs such as nades damaging players through walls and such. Just thought it was rather odd since Steam and CS 1.6 are two seperate entities.

                            Since were asking questions,

I wonder how steam powered games work with third party services like Gamespy?
Same as it does now, just the master server lists will be opened up for 3rd party software (hi gamespy, try doing this with some of YOUR servers for once)

Steam has a rather jazzy server browser integrated itself anyway.

Doodleman3, It should work, Gamespy will figure something out. Who actually uses gamespy though, honestly.
The All-Seeing-Eye already works with steam for CS - plus it uses a lot less resources than Gamespy and no stupid ads.

the valve/cs loyalists comments are so funny to read because they all have the same reply ' go play something else'.

Well dipshits, Valve is a fucking joke, and they've managed to somehow ruin the best MP game out there with each upcoming update.

I can't wait to see the day when a new game comes out and completely destroys the MORONS working behind the computers @ valve. CS has been on its downfall since after the release of 1.3.

You can reply with all the ' you suck go play another game' rhetoric all you want; the people bitching about steam/vavle are the only ones who aren't brainwashed in thinking valve is actually good.

OH and for the idiot who said you no longer lose your sound when you alt-tab, WOW , S-T-O-P the fuckin' presses, HUGE UPDATE THERE. Revolutionary new feature...... .... ...... considering that should be in any game or program passed the stage of version 1.0.0 .. Funny those are the same type of idiots who actually wait for HL2.
