well actually plenty of us complain about the 'cheating' employed in the international scene by the major govts, (WMD ANYONE??) but thats not the point of hwat anyone was sayin so i dont understand why u bring it up MR.

Yeh So I mentioned a lot of this a while ago as Joolz gave an interview very similar to all this in PCZ last month.

To prove he could, If he had any sense he would have made it, then Pitched Valve and got a job withthem. Yes this VAC bypass has been around for ages and ages I think its not actively circulating a the mo, and certainly a lo9t of cheat sites have moved or closed.

Ive been saying for ages, that they should make using a cehat on a server a breach of contract crime. Any responsible adult allowing a child to play such can suffer secondary penalties for failing to supervise them correctyly. There is no escape form the law if it is worded correctly.



The massive EU superstate someone referrred to would be only slightly bigger than the uSA and while USA is a feederal entity I would love to see why a federal USE is nto appropriate

well basically it leads into a debate surrounding the issue of a level playing field; and how much we lower the entrance level. if everyone could just walk in and be amazing etc etc etc no cheaters. but thats not so. so people cheat.



You could argue that using an m4 when everyone else has an mp5 is cheating too though.. a little nonsensical but still a valid pov

Joolz quitting his coding is just a drop in the bucket, really. He's not the first coder, and definitely not the last, so I really don't think him quitting will make very much of a difference at all. Wether he's telling the truth in his statement or he's making up lies for whatever reason, it's not that big of a deal.

ITS JUST A FUCKING GAME. youre talking about getting people in trouble with the law? yea, its a huge annoyance when there is a cheater in the server, but you can usually deal with them either by vote_kicking them or getting an admin to kick them. but cmon, in trouble with the law? as in jail or fines? wtf its just an onlnie game. id be pissed if police in my town had to worry about enforcing game crimes instead of rapes/murders, etc. fuck, its a game you play an hour a day, deal with it.



edit: i can see how in competitve play the law could be used, and that is valid. in league play, im sure some sort of contract must be signed, and i agree with using the law to keep league play fair. but for pubs? please...

I think its quite simple. He craves attention. Good or bad, it doesn't really matter to him. Of course, bad is usually easier. If he did it to prove a point, he would have proven the point to Valve directly, and none of us would ever have known who he is. The letter also shows obvious signs of his attention craving.



Furthermore, he says something along the lines of we should all grow up because cheats will always be around. I just want to know how its childish to dislike cheating. Basically he says he is for anti-cheats, but then he contradicts himself and says that its childish to dislike cheats. Obviously, for the most part, people that develop anti-cheats dislike cheats.



Finally, someone above said that its not immoral but dishonest to cheat. I think its both. It is immoral because people that use cheats know that it pisses off and causes grief for the community, but they do it anyway. They knowingly ruin the game for others - that is immoral. When you think about, immoral and dishonest go hand-in-hand.

you can say that about any comptetition. if im using a wood baseball bat, obviously i cant hit it as far or as hard as i could with an aluminum one. however, hacking into the game is not comprable to using different equipment, that is like stealing signs in baseball, or corking your bat.

I remember back in the day when ISDN reigned king and all us 56kers were left to be slaughtered; seemed pretty much like back in the day when 1.3 was around..
