I can respect a cheat writer; what they do takes great skill, and you have to understand, the reason they do cheats like this is to prove they can be done, they certainly aren't getting paid to write cheats. If they wrote cheats ONLY for their private use, then they would never get caught, and they would have no motivation to keep writing cheats.

As I read this letter, he said that there has been a method of bypassing VAC for over 6 months now that continues to work. If this is really true, then the fact that VAC has falsely banned people for using things like HLAmp and NokiMod really pisses me off. If there is such a big hole in it that a 6 month old exploit continues to work while VAC hits on harmless hooks, then we should just stop using VAC period. The only time I ever see a cheater banned by VAC is immediately after an update, and from what we've seen, this could even be a false ban. C-D should be adopted by the pubs and we should just let CAL use its magic cheat detector for stopping league play cheats.

I'm with cKonopka. Who really gives a damn what Joolz wants or does. Thank you for giving his ego the big boost he wrote this letter for the sole purpose of getting rizzuh. You may not see it this way, but this is the way it is :)

I think that someone will just step into his empty space like he states at the end of the letter. With the source code out floating around, it allows people to make their own variations. With all the different variations it will be harder to defend against the cheats. I really don't see this letter as one of any importance to the anti-cheaters.

Personally, I don't view this as big news. The small portion of the CS community (this is a random guess, maybe like 7-8%) who use Joolz just won't be able to update their favorite cheating client, so guess what? Holy shit, they'll just download a new one.

What I'm saying isn't rocket surgery, is it? I think not.

Lo and behold, he managed to slip some free information to VALVe, which they were apparently to blind to see. Or is this just my opinion?

cool. can't wait for hl2 and all that new money thrown at anti-cheat tech. till then i will just continue playing hl on a secure server and banning anyone i see cheating.

that is my anti-cheat, and i dont have to put up with melodramatic letters from the cheaters themselves.

Well I have no idea who this guy is, or what exactly he has done or how he has affected the cheat/anticheat community...so take my opinion like a grain of salt.

I think it's good he is moving on toward better things. I also think, however negative it may seem, it is good that he shows the exploits of half-life and othe weaknesses.

On the other hand, his writing style indicates that he is attempting some kind of self-redemption. Unfortunately I don't think confessing to a crime is any form of being redeemed.

On the other hand, I don't have a clue what i'm talking about.

I like how he tries to spin it that he was for anti-cheat. I think it just goes to show that even he realizes the immorality of it all.

And in regards to lockhart "C-D should to be adopted by the pubs", it first needs to be adopted by the cs players. Communities/pubs take a big risk in alienating a lot of casual CS players when they put on C-D in required mode. Optional mode is not the answer, I tried that, and it was just a mess. It made people paranoid and started to break down my community.

C-D needs to be built-into CS, or at least a C-D-like app should be built into CS.

lol I don't know how you can show respect for someone like that. All cheaters/hackers do is ruin the game for good players. So why show respect for someone like that? The fact that someone like him is leaving just shows that the anti-cheats are working, and the hackers are eventually going to give up. I'm just waiting for the day.

In conclusion: Cheaters suck, and all I have to say to him, is good riddance. and if you read this hacker, your letter sucked.

I agree. He sounds arrogant and not apologetic at all. He's not sorry for making cheats, he's simply too lazy to fight VAC any longer.

He has skills, which I can respect. I cannot respect him though, because he uses his talent to publicly release things that are solely intended to ruin Counter-Strike for others.

How anyone can say that they respect this kid is beyond me. His work has done nothing but hurt the community at every turn. If that wasn't his intention, then the cheats shouldn't have been released to the public in binary form.

Can we really trust what Joolz says? He hacks computer programs for a living. I would be very cautious about the technical data he goes into at the very least.
