Rizzuh, he's defending the reviewing of 'unfinished products', simply because they were unfinished when they were supplied for review! If the publisher had wanted a better review score they should have waited until the game was 'gold', before sending a copy to the magazines!
It's not the job of the press to decline reviewing a game, when they've been lead to believe that the copy supplied is representative of the final version (which is clear from the quoted article.)
[Edit to add:] Actually, the UK press does preview games, right up until they are supplied the review copy by the publisher.
