I think this whole cd-key thing should be left out of the cheating part. It probably would ban more players who use the same key legitimaly then ones who use changers.



There are still a bunch of holes that need to be plugged.

um...... so yeah if your whole family is playing cs on one cd key then you're breaking the license agreement anyway, legally your supposed to have an indiviual key for each computer its installed on, so bitching that your whole family can't play off one copy of cs is kind of funny, and yes you do own the game, but only ONE copy of it. And yes HL and CS Retail keys are interchangable, although cs is a mod for halflife so why don't you just download the mod version to play on your copy of halflife?

I am using HLirc and I havent been caught. But even though it isnt a cheat, Vavle could be trying to prevent all avenues that could be used in the future to give players that 'edge' that all script kiddies seem to cant get enough of.

Before he even released HLirc, I asked Disk2 about whether he knew that the new VAC was preventing all hooks, even the legitimate ones for irc and winamp. He told me that HLirc doesn't use a hook, so those people using HLirc are probably not gonna get banned for using it.



If you get banned, maybe it's because you actually had a cheat on your pc blah blah, but Disk2 is confident at least that HLirc doesn't trigger VAC. Doesn't seem like he's been in here to say anything about it, so I figured I'd mention it.

Well not exactly. You couldn't hack a dead body if you had a meat cleaver! It's the people behind OGC and the rest of the cheats that deserve the credit really. I admire their knowledge and persistence, yet they make me so mad when they give their shit out to lifeless nerds who can't get some skills to begin with.
