It's sort of a bummer that players using this hack won't be banned immediately, but hopefully Valve is planning a horrible death for them in the future.
i wonder what the horrible death is... hmm +_+

I wonder if the VAC will ever log the cheaters it catches to another file like the "CheatersList.txt" file in hlguard. I get people e-mailing me saying "I was kicked from your server saying I cheat but I don't. What did it say I had?" I would like for it to say in that log file what cheat it found. This way I know what they were caught with. What do you think?

yea i think it's gay how hl guard just bans but rarely says what for and the ole cs guard always said what for

Well, I believe that HLguard is moving towards blocking rather than detecting/banning. Same as VAC. But, I want it to detect/ban because if they cheat, chances are they will cause other problems.

I wish IP Addresses Never Change. :) That way we can say Screw WON and just ban by IP. Then Never see them again.

im not sure if perm ban is the best idea.....we got ta play around scums like die_scum....

ban for a day, then a week then another week

                (after evrey cheat attempt)

and of course it would be cool that it blocks cheats....

im not no programmer but what if it just deleted the cheat and repaired/restored what the cheat did to the game..

                o well

Well thats illegal unless they made the User Agreement required. Where they would have to agree for you to do it first before joining. But That would be cool just to p!ss them off. :)

These guys can get new cd-key's right away anyways, they just look for open windows file shares and look for a half-life installation on cable modem and dsl nets. I have a cable modem and 20 worms from windows boxes bounce off my firewall every day, those worms get in by filesharing which means they're open, which means that dedicated cheaters can steal other people's cd-key's and cheat with them.
Thus we see the huge horde of computers newbies that are WAY too stupid to run a decent firewall and heaven forbid, ACTUALLY disable file sharing. :)

Actually that sounds like your average AOL user too. Leaving a huge ass hole for any hacker to walk right on in and take what he/she pleases.

Plus it's been known in the past that some cheat programs have had built in trojans to pick up a cheating user's cd key as well and send it off. How do you think myg0t get's so many keys?

They should have something like states in the us have. 3 strike system, if you repeat offend 3 times you go to jail (or in the case of cs, banned from servers). Anyway, Cheaters suck nickel penis!!! lets just laugh at them becusae they dont have any skill!!!

They won't ban anyone, Vavle's a company that sell the game after all.

I think Valve is doing an excellent job on anti-cheat. gj.

No, I meant they can't change or delete files on your system unless you say it is ok. Thats why most of the the things you install have a user agreement.
