It's not that big of a deal! Yeah, it's just like Asus, it's stupid and annoying, and pisses you off in principle. But guess what happens if you try to use those old Asus drivers? VAC will kick you from the server. Yeah, that's right, how long, seriously, do you think it will take for the Valve Security Modules to be updated with these drivers in the list of things to check for? I'd give it 2 weeks tops, and those of us on the HLDS Server mailing lists will be looking for the word that the update has been made to the security modules, and you'll get the word passed along right here on CSN when that happens.



So don't worry, sure, some little punks might exploit it for a week, but SiS is going to find their cards getting really, really bad reputations when people get banned from CS servers when using them. Maybe they'll get an early boost on sales from the wannabe h4x0r kiddies, but they're shooting themselves in the foot, really.



Honestly, I don't mind the option of transparency in theory, but I wish there was some nifty fantastic way of enabling it only for single-player stuff... because it looks really cool, even if it'd be really lame in real life. But, that's not how it works, so yeah, Valve, have at 'em, ban the poor saps who buy the card and use those drivers, and force SiS (edit: or ECS as the case may be) to release different drivers quickly. It's a rough market, and they should have learned from Asus in the first place. As it is, well, I feel sorry for them for making such a poor decision. They're certainly going to pay the price for that decision.



The greatest part is... the wannabe cheaters who buy the card will get stuck with a crappy card that got them banned from a few servers... how great is that?



And yeah, I absolutely loved the analogy to ecstacy, v4p0r, funny stuff there. :)

Wtf. How retarded can a company be to make video cards with cheats in them[question mark...damnit I need a new keyboard] Their products are marketed to gamers, and no gamer is going to buy a vid card with cheats in it so they can end-up with a crappy ass vid card and banned from a bunch of servers. The retards that thought of including cheats in their vid card, and the lamers that buy them should all be dragged out into the streets and shot.

Not necessary, a good player (like me :) can find his way around even in dust even when blinded by the FB.

I have being playing CS since Beta 7 and saw no reason to cheat. Furthermore I dont play online, I play in LAN pubs, hence the chance of me being a cheater is 1 in a Million .



Dont argue with me cos LAN pubs dont have cheats.

LoL, first of all, I've been to many LANs and ppl bring their trusty OGC and install it on the comps and play. So you being a cheater is not 1 in a million.

2nd, so what if you've been playing since beta 7? I've been playing since beta 2, and you don't think ppl cheat because they've played since beta? A lot of people get sick of the game and cheat also. And you've really proved that you play in a LAN right? I can claim a lot of stuff but not all can be true.
