I also started a thread on this over in Counter-Map's Pimpage forum, because the pack apparently has 3D_Mike's DE_747, Telnet's CS_Assault2k, Sm0lder's CS_Robbery, and B@tman's DE_Volare in it, also without credits.

Wouldn't this violate Valve's license agreements, as well? Most developers have strict guidelines forbidding the resale of user-created modifications.

This whole thing about their bandwidth is a farce though, they list two locations for download, one is their site the other is "filefront", which is freaking hilarious because after all this pay to download crap, if you go to filefront.com and browse to the cs section, its right there for free.... HA

the US has half of all the lawyers in the world. And not one of them would say "hay, thats a stupid reason to sue!"

Thanks for the support, rizzuh. I am deaply offended at what they're doing to me and the other authors that were ripped off. Unfortunately, it is legal, just unethical. There is nothing LEGAL we can do about it.

No, it wouldn't be better, because the downloads do not include the documentation (the text files saying who made the maps and models).

im against this as much as any of us, but they r charging for the use of their server to d/l it. so u cant touch them.



so even though they have not given credit to the authors (for which they shall burn for eternity in the firey pits of hell) they are making a profit from providing the server and making the pack. so unless they have said (or implied) that they have made the individual models etc then they are safe from the wrath of lawyers.
