Condition Delay

Even when/if CS:CZ is released will it be in stores on the release date? When GTA3 came out for the computer on May 20th (I think) I went to Best Buy, Target (I hate Wal-Mart oh soooo much, damn those monopolising piss ass bastards), and EB and they didn't have it. Then I went back in the evening and they still didn't have it. I went there the next 2 days and the same sh*t. Then I had to leave town and there weren't any copies in Phoenix. Bla bla bla I finnaly bought a copy one week and one day after the release date. So, does it take that long to ship the sh*t out to stores?

as much as i love the half-life engine: it is OUTDATED. they can stuff in as many tree-models and rain-sprites as they want, it'll still look horribly outdated compared to modern games. oh and fletchington and mr zilla are complete idiots of course. so many reasons to not buy this game, i'll pre-order it anyway.

Most of the time, stores get the product at least a week before release date, and simply don't put it out for sale until the release date.



However, there are those odd exceptions. CompUsa, for instance, seems to have a strict policy of never offering any software until it's been on sale for at least 10 months.

That's the problem with delaying your game, the standards you are judged by are necessarily increased each time.

You're dammed right. Blizzard, who is notorious for delaying their games for long periods of time, always puts out great games, and are well worth the wait. CS:CZ had better be like that as well.

For something that has been supposedly finished for sometime, what is the point in delaying the game once again.



People who were looking forward to the release of the game in the spring (me included) were disappointed to say the least with the delay. But we could of understood it. To delay the game once more till november will push people to think that the game is not worth spending thier well earn cash on it. The main reason for this is that game companys begin the hype of a game up to a year before the release, with screenshots/videos/reviews/interviews... But how is this relivant if the game will be delayed for a longer period...



Max Payne was exactly the same. (altho the game was completey reworked) the manufactures put a realease date about a year before the actual game was released (UK).



Dont take this as just me moaning im just trying to point out the fact that people dont wanna take all these delays. It just puts them off a game. I would understand if it was a mojor problem, and if it was released with that it would terrible. But as valve didn't comment i can only think it was down to a small matter :/

Blizzard also abandoneds their games also. Diablo 2 is long overdue for a new patch.

New one coming out this month...also how can you say they abandon their games? They are still supporting Starcraft and WarCraft 2. Supporting a game doesn't necessarily mean patches every month.

I'll still get CS:CZ, but I doubt I'll as much interest in it. If they had released it this month, chances are I wouldn't be able to put my... mouse down... or ... something.

(sniffing air) What? Delays? Do I smell DUKE NUKEM FOREVER? Next thing we know, it won't be coming out until December 4, 2020. Games now-a-days always have delays. Lets hope this one doesn't turn into a Dakatana. Snarf!
