    CPL Turns 5

Five years ago today, June 26, 1997, The Cyberathlete Professional League was launched by Angel Munoz. After making a name for themselves, the CPL has caught on fire recently with massive events and tons of media coverage. It is now the world's leading professional computer gamers league and from it, CAL was formed -- one of the largest online gaming leagues. The upcoming PentiumĀ® 4 Processor Summer Championship 2002 Event is looking to be the largest yet with 7 main attractions, including the $100,000 CS tournament. The event, beginning in 23 days, will have 600 competitors traveling from 15 different countries to compete. Absolutely amazing.

As the CPL continues to grow and expand, it will hopefully accomplish Angel's original idea: sitting at home and watching e-sports on the TV.

    Happy Birthday CPL!

There's a CPL Europe branch. If you consider the UK to be part of Europe.

What else would UK be part of? It's own continent?

Rizzuh is of course referring to two things, UK's physical isolation (the English Channel) and their refusal to adopt the uniform currency, the Euro, in favor of their pound.

I think they should show this summers CPL event on tv. They could show the matchs and afterwards they could interview the players and such.

                      ?!

What I'm talking about is that most of the people in England say that England isn't a part of Europe.

how did this become a discussion about continental borders? If I'm concerned, Europe is part of Asia.

smart people (and i) use the term "splendid isolation".
