Not once have i ever heard someone -Brit or otherwise- say "That colo-UUUUUUUUUUUU-r was once worn by hono-UUUUUUUUUU-rable kings". I'm fairly convinced that English people spell it like that just so they can act like ponces about it.

no, it was actually the result of some American professor going through the dictionary in the late 19th or early 20th century, in an attempt to make that language easier to learn for the typical yank. I guess that one extra letter per word makes it all weird and shit. final thin about language, learn how to pronounce "lieutenant" already for chrissakes.

You don't just "get" twitch reflexes unless you contract Parkinson's disease. Beyond that, it's a matter of getting familiar with the concept of hand-eye coordination.

I thought my comments regarding NES as a child would have clarified this. Wheni sais "twitch reflexes" I meant amazing hand-eye coordination. I am very aware of the "concept" of hand-eye coordination, but it's something that i am still unable to master as well as other people I know, and those guys from NiP and 3d in those amazing demos. I was trying to show that, just as in soccer, there is a skill disparity that can never be eliminated between average and elite players, no matter how much the average guys practices.



oh, and as for why we call it football, it's cuz back in the day you could only score by kicking, and then later kicks were sowrth more than touchdowns. Can we accept the fact that there are five different sports that are called "football"? Soccer, American Football, Canadian Football (similar to the yanks, but with big differences) and Aussie Rules Football, and Rugby Football (although that name is pretty archaic and used less and less). by that English (i'm assuming) dude's logic, then American football shoul dbe handball, but why not Basketball, volleyball and Baseball as well? Although Voleyball could more accurately called Armball, and perhaps baseball could become Stickandgloveball. Just shut up and deal with it, no one is going to change the name of their sport because some other country gets confused too easily. BTW, Rugby Union is way more exciting to watch than World Cup Soccer :-P

Point taken on the football front, although I disagree on a point or two, it's pointless debating over it :)



And as for hand-eye co-ordination, some people just "have it". No matter what you do, you'll never be able to match their speed.

Having A disparity that people end up improving almost unconsciously really doesn't prove much. The fact that there are disparities really was never the point.



The point still stands; there are significantly less variables involved with becoming a good CS player. This opens it up so anyone who plays has a shot at becoming one of the best without it being something they have to base their everyday lives around.
