I've yet to see that statement proven wrong. As far away from the action as possible? I play right up close, I prefer the AWP close range. The LAW would just be whored to hell, even though it's not a good weapon. I doubt it would take alot of skill to use it, seeing as there would be a nice big blast radius.

What the hell is a bag lady? AWPs are great weapons and anyone who uses them and does so well should be commended for their ability. Bitching about it certainly does nothing to help. Here's an option, you say that these one-kill calamities are whoring tools and any newbie can pick one up and snipe, try a little countersniping. Put your money were your mouth is. Don't exercise your right to free speech by writing "ROFL" or "OMG, LOL" and then bullshitting. It's part of the game. Deal with it.

Yeah... I suck with the awp and therefore hate it. I usually get awped (in my face) if I do try to use an awp. However, I am learning... slowly. I stick to assault rifles to do the bulk of my sniping.Comment

Hey, the article was ok. Learned a few things. Seems like not too much work was put into it, but you mentioned this so that's ok. The little rant about being nicer to fellow players was kinda useless, since the community is great in part due to the bitterness and sarcasm. That's what makes it special. The angst, oh, the angst.
I did like the Beta Screens since I came into CS in 1.1 and I never saw the choppy past models, just the choppy present ones. A small note, I think it would be to the interest of some ppl (namely me) if you added a section to the site covering the Beta history of CS. Kind of a nostalgia thing. Players can post screens and shared bullshit on their early days. I'm a sucker for the oldies. This could mess up future contests, but I never win so screw it.
I guess that's all. One more thing, how come Gooseman never posts on CSN? Or even interviews? I mean, I know he's a bigshot, but your (Rze, I'm talking 2 u) ties run pretty deep and given the number of loyal ass-kissers here, he owes it to us. Well, maybe not "owes". As for awpers, in my opinion real snipers use scout. That takes real skill.
And besides awpers serve a purpose in cs, yes its true.
they make great knife kills, i've must've knifed so many awpers in cbble.
Its also been my experience that when im rushing an awper with a knife and the awper pulls out his pistol in a last vain attempt to save himeself, that he cant hit a damn thing. And then as I quickly manuever around and gracefully jump towards him and then stab a knife right through his noob head splattering awp whore brains all over the floor.
And then my comrades and enemies alike cheer and cheer screaming the words, " HAHAHA Oblivion shanked that noob's sorry ass!"
And then i yell " Are you not entertained!? Are you not entertained?"
And the mob Cries "Oblivion! Oblivion! Oblivion!"

The trick to knifing is being opprtunistic, always keeping on the move, and using the pure fear a player has of being knifed against him.
oh yes that story is true, completey true, and i have dozens of others just like it.
A proven fact, 9 out of 10 awpers are completely ineffective at close combat. Rush at them with a knife while constantly moving and they will be like a deer looking at the headlights of an oncoming truck. totally transfixed and paralyzed in surprise and disbelief.
and when the time comes you make you final jump towards them and jam the knife secondary fire straight into their head or chest.
And half of the time his teamates will be too transfixed starring at your attack even to fire one well aimed round at you...Comment
