I got my server running as soon as the security module master server / won server got running (11AM) and have had no problem since. I have been running AdminMod, Valve AntiCheat, StatsME, and HLStats and have had absolutely no problems.
I also got my client files nice and quick, and haven't really found any changes in gameplay besides the lack of cheaters. I have just heard some things about adding tracker (an in-game messaging client) and the new demoplayer, but so far it looks like at least the tracker is not functional in this version (it gives an error every time you connect to a server). I assume the full version will be included in CS 1.6 (along with protection against "ghosting" by chatting on the same server).
About Steam, in the beta version, clients must have broadband because all necessary files are pushed to the client on connection. In the real version (CS 1.6), ONLY the necessary files will be pushed to the client, making it 100% 56k compatible, all the way up to broadband as well. It will be cool because they will not have to do quick releases like this anymore (it gets done automatically), and security updates will be easier to perform (to circumvent cheats and such). I am all behind Steam, and I think it will add a lot of features to CS as well as make the upgrading process easier (well, nonexistant really). Cool.Comment

I've used steam too. I used it until CS 1.4 released officially. It was horrible and crashed my comp like crazy. CS crashes my comp A TON anyways but steam did it every time.Added @ [time="1023938969"]

Richochet rocks! It requires skill. You have to position yourself, not just bunnyhop. So, if you don't have skill, skill, or skill, I suppose it would suck for you. Besides, you can decapitate people. That rocks

Sorry if it sounds like a flame, it's just I found a mod I'm good at, and I'm gonna protect it like a momma bear protects her cubs. Decapitation, anyone?Comment

I was hiding my skills for my future unveiling of my attendance at the CPL. Tell nobody else.

And 1.5 is fairly useless. Nothing different besides the anti-cheat, I think valve is rushing too fast through the version numbers. We'll be at cs2 before cs2 is done.Comment
