Woot woot for valve! The new resolution is ownage (1600x1200) even though it will take me a few months to get used to lol. Ricochet is fun to mess around with when you're "CS-ed out". In my opinion, valve has a unique idea with Ricochet (or so I think) and they might be able to take it some place :-p. HIP HIP HORRAYYYY for the demo player thing, I make CS movies and I'm so happy for this, this is all I've wanted since I've heard about it. New VAC? AWSOME! :'-) Nothing I love more than playing on a cheat free server. In my opinion, 1.5 has brought alot to the game. Anyways, I was reading how to change the F1 and F2 keys, well, if we change them... is there any way to bind Tracker and the Demo Player to any other keys? I also read something about Tracker not working.. Is this true and if so will it stay like this? When I used tracker with steam, it was awsome being able to "private message" my friend without everyone else knowing what we were talking about. Woot Woot for steam with 1.6... Ok now that I've probably wasted your time with my worthless opinion and questions... I can now click "post comment"!



Oh yes, in that screenshot with the demo player, it shows a FPS higher than 100, and when this was first shown, I read that it may be possible in newer versions to do this.. but I also read that in some version of OGC it allows you to go past 100... well is there any way to do this without cheats? Or any word on if it will be possible in newer versions of CS?

I really like the new map, and someone asked why they released a map, its cuz it was supposed to be in 1.4 but was pushed back. As far as I can tell, asside from the map, most of the changes are in preparation for the next version, which really makes me mad. Why didn't Valve fix their WON server problem where WON Authentication is rejected on a regular basis due to overloaded servers?



Its been 6 weeks since 1.4 came out, and this is all they could come up with. The HL update was of a decent magnitude, but the CS team, REALLY people, a new map and a few fixed cvars???? seems pathetic to me

How come when I try to upgrade 1.4 to 1.5 it says all it can detect is ver 1.0.0.0, not ver 1.0.0.4 or whatever. I DO have 1.4 I play it almost every day. It won't let me upgrade!! WTF

I have the same problem. Did you find out how to fix this?

Do you have a firewall or a router? I think the problem is related to that.

I have not downloaded 1.4... because I am lazy. Is there any way that I can get the 1.3 > 1.4 update ? I have somewhat of a slow connection, otherwise I would simply get the full mod update.

I would love to know what Valve is thinking. They disabled "exec" now to the point ALL anti-cheats the TFC/DOD/FA/FLF/CS community relies on IE HLGUARD and others are now made useless.



It's now so limited HLGUARD can't do file scanning via exec to catch ALL those lame cheaters especially in other HL Mods.



Eric if you read this, and I figure you might :) please highly consider putting EXEC back to the way it was.



And for the love of god, PLEASE enable secure mode for TFC and other mods sometime this century lol.

There was a cheater on a 1.5 server today (I think it had VAC enabled--it was a speakeasy.net server btw).

He was wallhacking and aimbotting, big time.

Having Steam DL only "what you need" isn't going to be any faster than the current method, it's going to be fucking irritating. The only thing that will ever make it seem "faster" is the fact that most of the nimrod server admins never deviate from the "dust, dust2, aztec, italy, militia, inferno" suckjob mapcycle that people with foam helmets seem to flock to. It'll save you the time of DLing all those silly "balanced" maps when the cache inevitably gets corrupt. And then it'll fuck with your system clock. Just because.



Oh, and maybe they'll stop cramming shit like TFC, DMC, and Ricochet down our throats. That'd fit into the "DL only what you need" motif.

Doesn't matter. Even if OGC puts out another version, VALVe has found an ever-so-simple solution to get around OGC checking the security modules to see if it would be detected or not

I doubt that OGC will ever reappear in the public domain the way it has before. Likely all new OGC releases will be lame GL wallhacks. Combined with CSG and HLG's wallhack block they become almost useless and GLhacks wont unload themselves if they can be detected leaving you to get detected on your favorite servers when they update the VAC.

i agree.I heard that more phases of VAC would be implemented into the next few version and i hear cs:cz is lethal.

CS 1.5 isn't fully cheat preventable and there are some cheats that still work with cs 1.4 and 1.5. (i won't mention them) Im not sure if Valve knows this but if they do they probably gonna fix them all in CS 1.6. Well its only a quick update to block the new cheat but they'll just make more. I believe that the cheating issues in CS will never be resolved and cheat developors will always get around (or through) the system.

I think they have already started doing that and CS 1.5 cheats will be out very soon.
