That is such great news, anyone think that maybe joolz had a bit to do with this, since he knows the hacks very well?

    w00t w00t for valve

    200t 200t for ogc
I doubt joolz had anything to do it with. For those that may not be aware of this, Joolz recently left his cheating clan and joined the United Admins (UA) team, the guys who make HLGUARD/CSGUARD/Clanmod etc.

It is funny too.. I noticed a lot of people getting Valve kicked the last few nights. Maybe some honest people can finally enjoy the game and deservingly good players will get less harassed.

I hope someone from Valve comments soon on the possibility of false positives. I've seen people detected that I don't think are cheating... (yes, even after server reboot)

I got a question, if people were ban from server and their wonID are send to the black list, will the cheaters ever get to play again with the new valve anti cheat system? :*( :>
The way I understand it, if you got blacklisted enough on all secure servers then you wouldn't be able to play again until you went out and bought another copy of CS, or prey you can find another working wonid key lol. :)

It's the same thing a lot of HLGUARD admins are doing these days. Lots of servers are running it (and not only on CS servers either) and are sharing thier ban lists.

So next thing you know Joe blow finds out he's been blacklisted on all CS servers with secure mode AND servers running HLGUARD where admins share thier ban lists.

and OGC 9.02 is out now ...

            Added @ [time="1023214675"]

one final note: valve should ban on the WonID on all CS servers meaning the whole CDkey will become useless ... now valve just sends a message of warning to the cheaters 'UPGRADE YOur OGC NOW'

why not directly BAN on all the servers through WON loggin?

I think Valve should see how many people stop playing CS altogether after these loser anti-cheat updates they do. I think they'd find the number of players would be down a great deal...
LOL yeah your name definetly tell's about your IQ level.

Gee, it's also NO small wonder that 5 minutes ago I did a world-wide server search for CS 1.4 servers running HLGUARD, one of the most popular Anti Cheats around.

As of 5 mins ago there was currently 5,383 CS 1.4 servers with 23,791 players world-wide on servers with HLGUARD. Combine that with Valve's Anti Cheat and you got a S***LOAD of admins and player's who want to play on Anti Cheat servers.

              :)

Rizzuh, yu stated that rebooting the server will fix. yes, this DID work for me, the server was rebooted and i was fine. HOWEVER, the server i play on is very hardball with cheaters, which i am glad of. this means that since it DID detect me before reboot, even tho AFTER the reboot, i was clean, i am banned until official word states that false positives popped up from the VAC update. do you know where i can get an official response? thanks in advance.

Elvis, tell them to look at the valve mailing lists for hlds and linux. Here is a link the an archive that talks about it.

                    http://list.valvesoftware.com/pipermail...e/006289.html

Also, this is from the Valve mailing list:

"People running in software are generating false positives right now. We'll

                    have this fixed asap.

                    Erik"

I assume he is talking about software mode for video. Most of the people I know that got hit by it ran in OpenGL, so it may be getting the software mode after reboot.

After more discussion it seems to be a general software problem.

he is reviewing the mailing list as we speak (the link you supplied). however, i was not in software, and thats the only false positive report. has anyone heard anything else about an openGL problem?

have people been ok in openGL *AFTER vac DL, but BEFORE a server reset* ??

this will be so hard to pin down now that i'd assume most servers have restarted or did the weird "time elapse fix" where they just *poof* started working fine where before they were booting EVERY one that connected.

One thing I really admire is that on May 29th OGC 9.01 was released, then around 48 hours later Valve has it blocked in a security module update.

That really is damn fast work. I don't think system expected Valve to block it THAT fast. =D

I am especially happy that OGC 9.01 is now blocked. Too bad Valve hasn't turned on secure mode yet for TFC servers (=FaW= runs 2 TFC and 1 CS) because system was bragging OGC 9.01 is now TFC compatible too.

Oh and I see some people commented about the Valve AC not catching other cheats? Well that *IS* what HLGUARD from United Admins is for.

You can even add in custom cheat checks to HLGUARD if you wanted as well.

As a good example of a cheat Valve's AC wouldn't detect, 2 days ago HLGUARD on our CS server caught a couple of guys for colored model hacks. On our TFC server's we regularly catch people for XQZ2 v9.2 up to 9.6, and some other cheats that also work on TFC and CS.

Finally, let's hope with the CS 1.5 and HL 1110 release that they make client hooks impossible to be "hooked" period.
                        indeed man i agree .

is this not suppose to protect the HL engin "hl.exe or cstrike.exe"

if it protects the HALF-LIFE engine then the module should be Compatible with all MODS " logical no ! "

i dont understand this module auto update anyway

                            " how does it work"

what is it , wich file it updates , servers only or client file as well ,

can we manualy update that module,

where is the log file for this update so that we can track things up !

if it fails to update will it try again.

how does the server KNOW that there is an update module availlable

                              Dear Valve,

Please patch whatever you patched on June 3, 2002. Restarting the servers has not helped, and I had a clan match today. However, our server kept kicking me saying it had detected an illegal cheat on my computer. I don't, never have, never will, never even look at counter-strike cheats. I can connect to my favorite servers, but after 10 seconds it kicks me for having a cheat. Yes, these servers have been rebooted, but that doesn't seem to matter. Not only that, but it records it in the server log as having a cheat. So now my name, even if it is a CS name is probably ruined. Thank you for making me look like a cheater to all my CS peers, and also for the fact that I can't play counter strike on a lot of good servers now. My counter-strike does fine on linux servers, but I don't like to play on them because I don't know anyone there. Are you coming out with a patch soon to fix this, or am I just FUBAR on this issue. I know this isn't a tech support area, but that Eric guy seems to look here more than the tech support people do at their own forums.

I was high on C++ last night. I'm not going to bother with any further replies.

They never even read what I wrote. I proved that OGC violates the EULA with a passage that specifically mentions cheats, but they just said, "Nope, it doesn't violate it."
