No. You see, meow mix isn't just any ordinary cat food. 'Tis mighty special, special indeed. To get the power of MEOW MIX, you need the following ingredients
- A Cat's charcoaled body, preferably roasted on a spit
- 1/2 cups of horse glue
- 1 hour of Counter-Strike
- 1 bowl
- Penguins added for flavour.
There you have it. GO FORTH YOUNG SIR ROBIN AND CREATE MEOW MIX!
HL 1.1.1.0 Soon?

oke, I let your earlier Valve bashing comments pass, but yuo're starting to annoy (and confuse) me now.
"....Apparently common sense is not required in an epiphany of this proportion. Thank you zimzap for enlightening us all."
Umm maybe your forgetting CS is a mod. Do you see DoD selling by itself? No. The original CS team sold out to get some money. Now figure this out. Most people are too stupid to buy HL then download CS and just buy CS. Newbies get helped by all the new features in 1.4 CS sells more because its more n00b friendly. Do they care about the people who bought it already? No because they have the cash.
"...In 1.3 the problem was 7x worse, at least."
Umm not really its called CS Guard is better then HL anti cheat and always was.
CS/HL guard was/is good. It's pretty damn effective but nowhere near as effective at reducing the general paranoia as Valve's solution has been. Since it's built in it's definitely working in all the servers I play in and I haven't read or heard any accusation against a player since the dark ages of 1.3, in fact I even see praise at times.
About the 'noobs' - Cstrike is good, the fact you're here complaining about the jumping shows that, and so new people are going to want to play it. They've got to learn, and if the games hard to learn you're gonna have to put up with noobs. So in the long run making it easier for them is a good thing.
Now Valve have put a lot of money into developing Counter-strike into what you see today. DoD may not be on the shelves but it's sheer existence is owed to Valve's sdk and continued updating of halflife. Since this costs money I didn't blink an eyelid when CS hit the shelves, both Valve and the CS team deserved to see some return for their efforts.
Their motives may not be altruistic but they don't claim to be -they're a business in the end and the money doesn't magically appear, just like cstrike didn't develop itself.
But if you have to keep thinking cynically then consider this - if you start paying then they have to keep getting money from you, so they have to keep you happy or you'll sod off (hopefully) but for now you don't pay, it's free and they're not obliged to do anything.
gah, I really am boredComment

i think its like on the player models, when they bend or strafe or whatever, their joints and limbs conform to their proper shapes a little smoother, they way they should in real life.
...i think
oh, btw, zimzap: you're a freaking idiot. the cs team are not just sell-outs. if you had a game that you had worked years on, and in return became the #1 online fps outnumbering quake, unreal, doom, and a bunch of others COMBINED, would you maybe sell it in stores? the cs team deserves every penny they get. besides, half the money probably goes to their work (better software or whatever)
and half goes to their own lives.
...cut them some slack, jeez.Comment

Ok, time to learn something boys and girls... CS would be nowhere without the community. CS was formed according to what the community did. The community created all the servers, maps, custom models, ideas, suggestions, everything you see here today would not be here without the community. Gooseman would still be begging for maps and we would be stuck playing siege. Minh Le better remember how he got here, because this wide community can vanish just as quickly as it formed.

This is not a bug, but was intentional. A while back, there was an exploit where by people would change their names to big huge long strings of % signs, and it could cause, among other things, all the player skins to be randomized (ie, T's that look like CT's and vice-versa), and all sorts of crap. Basically, it just has to do with how half-life reads the name strings, and parses/displays them. So rather than try to redesign all that code, it was a lot easier to simply remove the ability for players to change their names to things using % signs. Make sense?
maybe they will fix another oddity in cs (and other mods).
you cant type a percent (%) sign: its comes up as a space.
if you change your name to it, it either 1.kicks you from the server or 2.changes your name to unnamed

I'm sorry... did you not realize that just because you can buy CS retail doesn't mean that you have to? And while CS is a mod, it's also a retail product. Yeah, it uses half-life as a base. Guess what? A whole ton of games out on the market today use Quake III as a base. Yet somehow nobody accused MoH:AA of being a "mod" did they? CS is availible as both a mod of half-life AND as a seperate retail product from half-life. So you get to choose whether you'd like to buy CS retail, or just download the free mod. If you honestly for even a second believe that you have to pay for the free download of CS, and that somehow this makes the CS team a bunch of sellouts... well, simply, there's no point in arguing with you, because as others have already pointed out, you're a friggin' idiot, and just about everyone else here realizes that. Don't bother to try to save face... at this point you're only digging yourself deeper into your hole. At least your not alone though, as right next to you GonePostal is digging his own hole...

So let's see... looking through the map rotation list here, for some odd reason I'm not seeing the name "GonePostal" in the credits of any of these maps. Just to jog our memories, what terriffic contribution to the CS community have you made? We all seem to have missed it somehow. And come to think about it, looking over the names of the people who really have contributed a lot to the CS community... I'm not seeing droves of people who constantly bitch about how CS has gotten screwed up, and how horrible the CS team and Valve are for messing up this game.

Ah, now I remember what your contributing part is in the CS community. The village idiot. What village would be complete without an idiot? Apparently there must be several villages represented in the CS community posting here, because there's certainly several idiots present.
I hate to break it to you GonePostal, but the vast majority of people who play, excluding your small band of fellow bitch 'n moan friends, are perfectly happy and very grateful to Valve and the CS team for all their hard efforts, and we are more than willing to pay for these efforts, as will be shown when CS:CZ comes out. For those few of you who seem to be unable or unwilling to show any gratefullness, somehow feeling that your $30 investment entitles you to the continued services you're getting... I feel sorry for you. Life's going to suck with an attitude like that.
Good to see CS1.5 and HL1.1.1.0 coming out soon, I can't wait to see the improvements. :) I'll probably just use Steam to get it over my 56k... worked great last time, had all the updates installed within 2 hours of the release.Comment
