well i guess valve wont update the anti cheat nemore for 1.4 because 1.5 and hl 1110 is coming in 2 weeks the latest but oh well it will probably be bug fixes,enhanced engine and some other goodies like tha anti cheat 2nd warn perm ban to all secure servers

That is why I am POSITIVE, that in a year or two in whatever verison, you will have to pay for CS monthly or yearly.

Obviously your marketing genius has uncovered a giant conspiracy by Valve to piss off the old school players and force a monthly charge down our throats. The only games that make you pay monthly fees are the massively multiplayer online ones, and they do that to help the server costs. Did I miss something on the elite zimzap-only forum that said they were planning on shifting CS into a MMOFPS? That's the only way they could get anyone to pay a monthly fee; by setting up their own servers and making it impossible for others to do it.



Also, you say they care only about making money (apparently a horrible goal in a capitalistic economy). However, the recent massively multiplayer games have had horrible launches that absolutely murdered any kind of fanbase they had prior to that, not to mention the fact that CS has a huge amount of players which would require an even larger server setup. This kind of thing would cause them to lose money. But you already knew that, since you've got it all figured out.



Finally, I don't understand why you say that they changed the jumping to get more money. Most likely it was changed because a majority wanted it that way. The reason it seems like everyone hates the jumping is because the only people talking about it are the ones bitching. I'm not sure about you but I don't remember the last time I told 10 of my friends (I don't really have 10 friends; I'll just get that joke out of the way now) to go and buy a game because the jumping is really cool.



Apparently common sense is not required in an epiphany of this proportion. Thank you zimzap for enlightening us all.

Valve have done nothing but helped CS, they've invested time, money, manpower and great deal of effort to keep cs fresh and inject it with patches, maps technology anti cheat and countless other advancements; and all you guys seem to do is complain that they've ``fucked up cs''



Valve have never asked a dime from you to play CS, all the spectator tech, the netcode, the new levels the cheat protection is all being developed by valve on your behalf at no cost to you, so why complain?



This has been said countless times, but if you don't like it then either stop complaining and stop playing or go live in a fucking log cabin far away from here.

That's true Valve could have just released Half-Life and moved on to anotehr product but they have been supporting it for almost FOUR YEARS. They support the mods, they update the game, they fix things, they add new levels, and when there is a major problem(like cheating)they fix it so switftly the major cheat developer stops amking cheats. So why are some of you whining? Beggers can't be choosers.

Apart from this everythgn else u write is true. i Dont want to sound ungrateful to Valve who must have put a lot of extra money and resources into Half-Life after its launch. In fact its prolly why HL and the mods r so successful even after 4 years.

No. The people that complain about cheaters now are eitehr sore loosers, newbies, or very rarely, verry very extremyly rarely right. In 1.3 the problem was 7x worse, at least.
