I think the best part was fatal1ty talking about how most people think gamers are a bunch of geeks but they really aren't. Of course I'm LMAO the whole time because the guy looks like a huge dork and talks like he has a cack in his mouth. That was classic. In fact I'm gonna watch it again just for that.

I've been to only 2 LANs but I feel I can honestly say the vast majority of gamers look like geeks. Seriously, even if you are a geek, you don't have to dress like one and proclaim it to everyone.

A real sort requires athletic ability. Its a game just like chess.

Fishing, hunting, luge, skeleton, bobsled, fencing, long jump, javelin, shot put, etc.

Many have said that a sport is defined by the actual action and not the training. If Ksharp lifted weights he wouldn't magically become a CS athlete, why would it be different for someone in the long jump who works his legs like crazy?

(Yes a couple of those require running for ten yards but it's not like that's working up a sweat.)

Aerobic eh......driving isnt aerobic? chess? poker? pool? toe wrestling? golf? darts? hmmmm bowls.....want me to go on? Or carry on proving you wrong. And u break a lot of sweat when playing pro...and i mean alot (not just coz there are fat people who dont get out much that play)
I think you've misread my post and I wasn't clear enough in it. What I meant to imply was that sports should require a large level of physical exertion. Aerobic and athletic, where you break a decent sweat from actual aerobic, physical exertion, as opposed to stress.

And by the way I prefaced the entire thing by stating that it was my opinion. I know many people feel differently about the definition of sports and I have no problem with that, even though I disagree...it's simply not that big of a deal. It's just my opinion...you don't need to try to prove me wrong. I'd love to discuss my opinion with you, but if you're looking to pick senseless argumentative fights by proving wrong my personal opinions then please go somewhere else.

BTW rizzuh long jumpers train long and hard for their event. Not only in the warmup but also in the competition it takes alot of exertion. I agree it's not like running a 10k but it's still tough.

BTW JdeFalConr, CS players train long and hard for their event. Think of how NiP is training.

May not require physcial exertion, but it requires great mental exertion. Not only in practice, but in the match. It's a talent. It's a sport. It's tough also. Not in a physical way - but a mental way.

Just like how someone could play football all their like and not be as good as a pro - someone could have been playing just as long as ksharp and not be half as good. So you can't just say all it takes is a lot of time to become good either. Sure, you'll get proficient and "own" up a small public server - but you won't touch the pros.

Maybe mental exertion just isn't as important to you. Therefore, there is probably nothing we can say to make you think otherwise.
