As Valve stated; the servers must first be rebooted (restarted) before the Anti-Cheat will work.



Meaning anyone having problems with OGC still being used they need to restart and make sure their server updated.

props to valve on this one.. but even if valve comes out with an insurpassable anti cheat there will still being "hackers" in the eye of the cs community.. that would be a nifty article for someone to write about

I don't know a heck of alot about Valve's anti-cheat system, but from what I've seen so far it doesn't look like they're going for an allmighty-for-ever-and-ever-anti-cheat-device that will stop all hax in their tracks with a single fell swoop. It seems like they're trying to produce a system that will be completely server side and easily updated at will so they can quickly change it to deal with new cheats as they come out.

another question, what file does the kicked cheaters log save in??

If you have logging on "log on" in your server.cfg it *should* log it to hldir/cstrike/logs



It wont ban the person however btw, just kick for now. I checked my logs and it doesnt seem to log the kicked hackers...hmmm

Ahh all cheaters have to do is rename the program and they dont get banned. And that is why cheats will never be stopped. You can hex a cheat in like 5 mins to rename the .dlls and stuff then your back up and cheating as long as you dont give your cheat out.



BTW im not a cheater but im a programmer so i know about renaming and stuff.

sorry but you are dumb. Valves anti cheat detects the acual injecting of the hook into the client dll. You can load the cheat off an entirely seperate drive and it will still detect it.
