BAD Game, VALVe, BAD. A few moments ago I saw someone using OGC on my favorite server. It's a "secure" server. This person claimed to be using "ogc", so obviously it was an edited version or else he would have been banned. That b*tch is lucky no admins were on. He really was using a hack like he exclaimed, because he was using some kind of speedhack when he shot and he had 90% headshots :-(. While I appreciate what VALVe is doing, they aren't doing enough.

LeRaldo - until there is some serious proof that some people have circumvented the secure mode, it isn't particularly nice to suggest it's not working. I want screenshots and demo's dammit!



It's all to easy for cheaters to place pro-cheating propaganda on message boards to rubbish all the progress that's been made and destroy people's hopes.

Restart your servers. Many admins are complaining of weird errors, but they are fixed with a restart.

If a restart of the server is needed for the anti cheat to work, I am sorry I wasn't aware of this. My friend is renting a server and I don't know if he can get them to restart it or not.. Sorry.

He's right, though. Although I'm sure many cheaters are little kids that don't understand how the world works yet, there are also many older and more ``mature'' cheaters that simply do it to piss everyone off.

hehe i submitted the news, was late i guess i didnt come out very clear. No biggy. Wtaag is the one who told me the anti cheat was updated, and I went and tested it on my LAN...and those pics are the result

Just like to report that I've been looking through my server logs and this thing has been banning people right and left, and its funny as hell. Also to those of you concerned that the ogc folks will just find a way to 'get around it', I'm pretty sure this time valve has elimated the hook exploit that ogc uses all together. In anycase, from a server admin's pov, the majority of cs players now appear to be playing cheat free. People forget that there are things besides anti-cheats that stop cheaters; a good server admin community (ala unitedadmins.com), good indivual admins who can spot illegit players, and now we have valve's autoban anti-cheat. So for those who STILL want to bitch about cheating in CS, I think they need to go out there and play on servers that run HLguard or a CSG variant, with good admins, and come back here and tell me that the community is still 'overrun' with llamas.

i'm glad they've done this, i even saw a cheater get spotted today, but it was with valves cheat, so valve fixing there own problem isnt that special, but its still good

Valve isn't stupid and they just killed off two popular and easy hacks. I don't care how long the war lasts, as long as the cheating side is always entrenched. Today, my friends, they are.
