I woz a n00b for a WHOLE YEAR!
it was horrible I wouldn't get any frags, I sprayed bullets all over the place and Id get pings of 500.
Then I found out I was on software rendering. I changed it to opengl and I found out cs gets a whole lot better when it isn't running like shit.
I recently got broadband and now I love cs more than ever.Comment

must say one thing about the game of CS...
To all u noobs out there... dont get too attached... it will be the end of u... play the game but get out and do things with friends and family, dont become a complete and utter gamer such as myself... resorting to pitiful glock rushing to reduce my boredom... get good at CS, but on the pole of playing CS on an average of hours for weekends... my range was not there... 12-16 hours... i have no life and no more friends... they have all left me... I send this warning out because CS is just like a Drug! its soooo good and soooo addictive... just make sure u can let go... CS for eternaty...Comment

being a newb was fun, but killing newbs is funner...i dun think that's a wrod but whatever... i killed this one newb over and over again in assault for like 13 rounds till he figured out that i was camping by the backdoor and started to come in through the garage, it's so fun watching them spaz at u cuz they cant figure out y their not hitting shit. but i guess u can't blame them, i was like that when i first started...Comment

You all might want an actual noob's prespective. I have owned the game for one week, (I bought it last sunday, so really 1 week and 1 day), and have played it for alot of those days. I usually am up pretty high in Public Servers (thats all I play, random public servers). I get normally, somewhere near 14 kills per map, so I think I am "o.k." but I still hate being the newbie. This site, though teaching me alot, is still over my head. I don't understand most of it, and people generally arent very helpful on servers. I once got 28-2 on cs_747, but thats cuz I was a CT and that is an impossible map to lose. But as a noob, I like this site and hope you continue to stay here to help me through my noobie daysComment

Sorry to go off-topic here but the weapons mailbag is a bit stale.
The "m4/m203 HE Grenade Launcher" Skin of the Day by Ironclad, Sixshooter, Tinwolf & LoneWolf is a nice, compact design but it's functionally impossible. The rifle bolt needs somewhere to recoil, hence even the minimal buttstock on the carbine version. You couldn't even chamber a round in this one.
Perhaps one day we'll also see a MAC-10 that fires correctly from the open bolt position.
