Actually since 1.4 has come out, I am a newbie. Everyone is a newbie. It's a new version. And I described how I felt about it. If you want some stupid story of how I tried to defuse the bomb with my knife in beta 4 or something you're not getting it. :PGonePostal

Whatever man you have no idea what you are talking about, my skill improved when 1.4 came out and I owned public servers with my mad skillz. But who cares, when i was a newb i was pathetic, the first time i played it was the second time i even touched a computer to play a game but now i am a master (well at least in my LAN buddies eyes).

I remembered the very first time I played CS. I fragged two guys and survived the round. Of course, that was on my friends computer and a cable connection. That was over two years ago and I've been playing CS (on my own computer) for almost a year and a half. I'm not a n00b, but I'm not the best of players either.

I was a noob lets say about 3 years ago and at that time I was happy to get 2 kills out of every 8 deaths and if i killed up to 3 people with an automatic shotgun i felt like dancing lol but when i started out as a noob the game was a lot more fun first off there were no CHEATERS 2ndly it was a thrill to goto a map and try to navigate my way through the map without me knowing where to go, and finally looking through all my weapons and i thought the mac 10 was my fav until i actually started buying weapons instead of picking them up.Being a beginner at a game makes the game more interesting and when new versions of cs comes out i look forward to new maps and new options but i totally disagree with them messing up aiming issues with the usp : ( That gun used to own till well it didn't anymore in 1.4.Well all in all being a noob not knowing where to go making other teammates mad and always doing things people would consider retarded was the times when i had the most fun.

ok we were all noobs at one stage... so all i say is as follows...

"respect the noobs, they are like u once were... so cut them some slack... we all start off as noobs and we all get better... dont yell at the noobs, coz they might get better than u some day and u will be wanting to play on THEIR team"

Wow.. I remember when I was a newbie. CS was back in beta 5 or 6, and I was in Singapore (yes, that island country in Asia), and I visited many LAN centers to get some gaming in with my friends. They were playing this counter-strike game, which seemed interesting. I had never even played a FPS before, so it took some extra time to adjust (unlike all those half-life and quake players who had a somewhat easier time jumping in, but at least I had no preconceptions going in so I could build my skill from the ground up).

Eventually I talked my brother into buying half-life and downloaded counter-strike to get a little practice in myself, and I was bad (I played rarely), but, hey, it was fun when I played, especially when I was in a LAN shop with my buds.

Then I go off to college in the US and am overwhelmed with work... and I forget about CS until I realize a lot of my friends play.. cool! So of course I go buy my own copy of HL and get down to business.. and after playing a ton I actually improve (so much for homework). The LAN games on the campus network were fun.. especially the dorm wars.

Then I thought.. hmm.. I could just build my own computer and run a server right from here... So after months of research and learning what goes on behind the scenes in CS and Linux (which opened up a whole new world from someone who only knew of Windows), and buying some parts and putting together a machine... I got a server up and running.... so over a year later I'm still playing and still improving and still keep the good old server up to date, and still loving it.

Who would have thought a stop by a LAN center over 2 years ago would have led to me avidly playing, then putting together a computer, learning Linux, and running a game server? Come on by my server and say hi, I'm glad to see the CS community continues to grow. Northwestern University Counter-Strike (Server: 199.74.69.6:27015)

"If CS were so easy, we wouldn't still see people not knowing how to defuse a bomb, etc."

Yeah. Except, replace "CS were so easy" with "people knew how to read the fucking manual" and there you go. Recurring theme of "people are stupid" and whatnot.
