    OGC targeted

Sources inform me that Valve has begun silent and limited testing of a new module for their anti-cheat that detects all versions of OGC, a popular cheat, that said source has tested. This may be some sort of hook fix in general. Once released, the anti-cheat update will automatically be downloaded to servers and possibly clients.

We still don't know much about Valve's anti-cheat, except that thus far it has eliminated many popular cheats. Almost all old cheats were instantly disabled, while a few are going to be addressed in a time-frame of "soon."

It's easy to notice that cheating in Counter-Strike 1.4 has decreased by a large margin. With a built-in wall/zoomhack and Valve's slow development cycle for their anti-cheat it is unknown how long this relative cheat-free CS can last.

I think they should take two cheaters, cut off their heads, and put the heads on pikes infront of the Valve offices.

I still haven't figured out how you get the built-in wallhack to work. Do you just type "wallhack" in console?

              lol :/

btw, I'd trade valve's anti-cheat for a 1.4 compatable version of cd like that (/me snaps fingers)

oh.. as for the built in hack, don't ask, it's a cvar.. it shows up in demos and I'm not going to post the command in here, so please dont' ask

When I said "eliminated many popular cheats," I really meant "eliminated many popular cheats." I realize that you're on the internet so you instantly have to take issue with what I say, but all CS 1.3 versions of OGC (the most popular cheat ever, mind you) don't work anymore.

                Past tense is my friend.

yeah ive only seen one person cheating so far, they connected to a server and were detected and kicked instantly. but i dont think people realize that there arent cheats everywhere anymore, cause even people who were cs gaurd authenticated were being called cheater/

As far as the anti-cheat is concerned, I hope they get it working better and soon - not so much to get rid of cheaters (I've only run into 1 or 2 that I even suspected), but rather for people to STOP accusing anyone with above average skill of cheating.

Maybe if people felt more secure, it would stop. At this point, it's more annoying than the cheaters themselves.

I noticed this decrease in cheaters before 1.4. This was thanks to CD.... Oh how I loved it! I never saw one person, ever on a CD server that I even suspected of cheating. It was great I agree that I would prefer a working version of CD in 1.4. Why, maybe it's tried tested and true, or I have more faith in CD's creator(s) then I do in VALVe. VALVe kinda screwed up the game I loved so much.

I have tested the new stuff and it works very well. CD and HLGuard has nothing on this new anticheat.
