    TSO over rs

The Speakeasy Offensive, TSO, has defeated riot squad, rs, to win the CAL-Invite championships. TSO follows in the footsteps of the now defunct Xtreme 3 and Domain of Pain, who has completed all four CAL-I seasons. TSO got a mild victory over rs as terrorists with 7 wins over 5 on de_dust2. In the second half, TSO, as CTs, pulled out early with 5-1. Clan rs then rallied for five rounds, but failed to plant within the round time giving TSO the win for the final round: 6-6 for TSO as CT. A narrow 13-11 victory for TSO saved them from overtime.

You can grab demos of the match at Domain of Games.

Domain of Games reports the [rs] almost had 3D's Rambo (Kim) play. The CAL didn't allow it, but the fact that it was considered is kind of silly. Why should clans be able to use other clan members? The concept of "ringers" should be left out of the invite wing of the CAL entirely, in my opinion; they are the best clans, they should win or lose on their own merits.

Congratulations to The Speakeasy Offensive. It looks like they're the clan to beat at this Summer's CPL event, if they work on their LAN play.

the reason it could possibly be allowed is that rambo of 3d was in riot squad before he left for 3d...so he was therefore still on riot-squads roster, and 3d not being in cal, would have allowed him to still play in rs...but, they decided it was a little unfair, and i agree.

too much of a big deal is made about clan dealings. I know it's trying to be thought of as a sport, since it requires skill to play, I'll admint that; but you don't exercise! Sports work up at least a LITTLE sweat. It's just a game! :P :P

if darts is a sport, then so is counter strike.

i think the difference is that darts involves physical activity and the movement of objects/ while cs does involve hands its a different concept when you are controlling a computer character to do the job for you/ with other sports you yourself are the character/

yeah cheeta, you maneuver an artificial character who does the work for you. Do all the running and jumping you do in cs in real life and see how you feel. cs isnt a sport, its a game.

This has nothing to do with this news item but I had to post here because it's the only new thing.

I find it cool to see the Canadian Armed Forces as the SOTD. There's probobly only 5,000 Canadians who play CS but it's very nice to see your own country there. It's more novel for Canadians because we aren't as popular as the US in anything (including military). Thanks skinners!
