ASE is just plain excellent! I liked it so much right away that I decided to pay for it. I haven't regretted it a second. They deserver the registration. If you are using Gamespy, its a no brainer to change over to ASE.

ASE is great, I use it for nearly every mp game I play.

And for the record I HATE GS Arcade.

I downloaded it when it first came out, and the only problem I get is that their scanner might go down for a few hours once every 4-5 months. It's actually the only piece of shareware that I've ever paid the registration fee for in my entire life.
Yep. Only registration i've done in my life. The guys deserve it. I got it a few months ago - and compared to Gamespy(and all those bloody adverts, and crappy 7-10+minute wait to refresh *all* the servers), it just stomps it so hard.

Being able to either scan or ping is wonderful: refresh initially, to get the ping and details; and after a game, just do a scan - update server details - no. of players, map etc - which is so much faster than the full ping/scan.

The only gripe i have is that the player search seems to be a bit slow - I sometimes use gametiger for this instead.

The ASE really is the best server browser out there. I haven't registered and the only thing it says is "(UNREGISTERED)" along the top. It has tons of features, it's fast, and it looks clean. Download it, you won't regret it.

                Why not use HLCC?

ASE is for multiple games. For example, I use it for SoF2 MP test and JK2. The modifiers are impossible to beat, too :)
well, thats extremely valid arguement, and i have not much else to say..

                for other games i use

Yup, All-Seeing Eye rocks, I may donate to them. Their site could use some work, and their tech support, but I liked the program.

This stomps everything :) All your other server browsers cannot compete with ASE!

The best feature about ASE is the very regular updates to the program. With ASE, you get automatic updates at least twice a month (roughly), either to the program to fix or add features or they add additional filters to add more supported games to their list. I used to use Gamespy3D until I found this, but GS didn't regularly update (once every two months is not particularly regular) and I had to wait a long time before they would support a new game that just came out. ASE adds game support literally the day a new game comes out.

Plus the custom filters are great! You can list\filter servers based on any number of server or other variables you want. You want to see the DoD servers that are running Cheating Death AND CSGuard with pings under 100 that have bots and aren't full? No problem!

Great program - replaced the Gamespy I had already bought and I bought ASE within a week of trying it out. Anyone who hasn't tried it should - it's that good.

ASE aint complicated, and the modifiers are great. Like some other people on here I paid to register it, the only thing I have ever paid for on the internet! But you dont have to , you can use it forever if you want.

Also it updates automatically, rather than the "get new version" option of game spy. Therefore new games are on the program very quickly, for example RtCW was available immediately, whereas on gpsy its only recently come out.

Its much better than GSpy, give it a go.

                                ALL-SEEING EYE IS TOTALLY FREE.

It still works after the "evaluation period", just a few of the cooler features are turned off. Basically it is still a kick-ass browser, but if you register it probably becomes a Godlike browser. Bow down beetchez.

The quote Rizzuh used from Exo's article is totally confusing about the registration. Exo got it right toward the beginning of the actual article, though.
