Here's the deal.
Many people are going to complain about the changes that were implemented into 1.4, and namely for one reason. Much more of the game requires skill now. Aim is more essential than it was before and even though there is still randomness applied when you're shooting, the hitboxes have been altered to be more accurate.
People are complaining right now because they have lost something of their "evasion" "technique" that was jumping with mp5/pistols. Jumping around and shooting someone in the head didn't prove anything but your ability to exploit the hitboxes as they did *not* change when you jumped off the ground even though your body was visibly in a different spot.
Sure, it's harder to shoot someone when they're jumping, but it requires no skill to fly around like some kind of deranged idiot. I personally don't like the realism crusade. I could care less if a video game was realistic or not. If I wanted realism, I'd go outside.
Yes, this is a video game. No, they're not going to change anything from their new update. They beta tested for many months and have seen the pros/cons of this jumping and walking thing.
My view on what it *should* be like? Well, first jump shouldn't make you act like you got your leg sawed off. It should disable you slightly, but not to the degree that it does at the moment. Verdict? I can live with it, don't change it.
"Speed" Walking. This was a bug, using the +movedown command instead of your +speed button is using the in game commands against what they are supposed to be used as. Verdict? I can live with it, don't change it.
AWP Changes. Overall, I've never had a problem with the AWP. This kind of bundles in with the Quick Weapon Switch issue as well, which was a little out of whack in the first place, there should be a little delay (which there is now) between switches of weapons. Verdict? I can live with it, don't change it.
I have played CS1.4 for about two months now in beta and the current release. The state that it is in right now was actually made from ideas from the community of beta testers and specific players that they asked for input from. Please don't go cry and sign petitions because honestly you're wasting your breath. No one is going to change anything after putting 4 months of work into the final release. If you were so worried about changes that were going to be implemented, you should have definitely downloaded the beta when you had the chance and put your two cents in.
Final word : Play the game. Live with it. Don't play if you don't like it. Don't try to change the world because you haven't gotten used to it in the first 24 hours since release.
Thanks.
