1.4/1.1.0.9 Issues

Ok, I'm having a really bad problem I can't even play Half-life. I downloaded update and CS patch. Installed started up cs, clicked on play cs, it froze. Ctrl-alt-del, tried again same problem. Tried going in through half-life, same thing. Uninstalled, re-installed, downloaded full updates of HL and CS. Same problem, does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

ok im having problems aswell ok i have tryed the thing that i thought would sort the sound out but no luck it was my b day on the 24th and i wanted to play cs and i cant even play it. the thing is that i have found that if u install the patch to 1.1.0.8 and u install 1.4 the sound works its the new 1.1.0.9 that is fooked valve you need to sort your sh*t out b4 u release something as big as this?!?!. hope theres a fix soon i also get illegal operation which if comes up the sound works in half-life but i then exit and its back to silence 1.1.0.9 is really messed up i miss 1.1.0.8 and cs 1.3

I had this bug but fix it go to control Panel and then multimedia and then change playback to game compatible device 1.4 change it to something else don't know why.

i found a bug, when i reload my gun 1/5 times it doesnt reload.. i have top press "r" agian and then it reloads.. but the model does show it reloading it just goes.

I have exactly the same problem as you. And, I run a similar computer as the one above, except with WindowsXP...

I have the reload problem, my old ping was avg 60, now its avg 120, my old best FPS was 70, now its 25, worst FPS was 30, now its 7.



I lag out on EVERY level on EVERY server, I have turned down as many options as I can, people teleport on my screen, some deaths are delayed (I.E. i shoot someone, 2 seconds later they die)



I was so looking forward to this patch. I love the jumping idea, I LOVE the no-autopickup, I love the guns shoot inaccurately when you jump, i DONT love not having the FPS or Ping to play anymore.



I guess I'll have to play again when they fix all this.

i know whats wrong, i had the same prob before, do you have cs folder something like this: c\games\halflife\counter strike\cstrike

well, if you do, reinstall it, but have it like this instead:

c\games\halflife\cstrike

dont know why it is that way, it just worked for me an my friend..WiErD

ok i got win XP, and every time I run CS1.4 now HL.exe closes the window but still runs. meaning i have to Ctrl + Alt + Del and end the prosess manualy. and does anyone ever get NETSEND ERROR :WSEA******* cant remember last bit chears.

im not doubting CSgaurd is a very good anti-cheat method but valve said that the anti-cheat network was in place and clearly it was a a very bad atempt at keeping out cheats if they managed to miss several.

The Half Life update has ruined it all for me. Now it is really slow when i start up counter-strike. Then when i clikck on Play CS it freezes. There it now way out. I must say good-bye to CS and its SHITTY HALF-LIFE UPDATE.
