    I am mega-pumped about 1.4

I am going to stay with a buddy of mine in the dorms for mega-good bandwidth to dl 1.4

As with every new version, people will whine at it's new features for a few months, and then get assimilated into it, just like Microsoft. :)

Changelog looks pretty solid. Can't wait.

» Removed players hearing enemy radio calls

Whaaat!? I actually liked that feature! It made it a lot more realistic, and gave a very good early warning system!

            » Added cheering to HLTV.

I saw that in the button config (when redoing all my buttons after installing 1.4 with Steam.. grumble) ... what exactly does it do? Make a cheer noise?

            --

Any idea on whats going to be done with Tracker? Right now It can very easily be used to cheat by communicating (when dead) with a live person and directing them to the enemy.

Something like not being able to talk with live players in the same game (while dead) would be suitible.

            --

            Edit:

Another note.. just when I was getting used to the headshots in 1.3 Sheesh, 1.4 is crazy. Long range recoil based headshots are becomming a frequent with guns like auto shotties and paras.

And those recoil headshots with the AK and Colt are annoying as all hell too!

I'll assimilate one of these days and get used to it, for now I'm adjusting my play strat a bit. Counter-Strike is one step closer to Death Match.

At this rate I can only imagine what 1.5 will be like :).

Arg, no de_comrade. I was kinda looking forward to playing that particular map. Maybe narby will release it anyways even if it isn't in 1.4. And to think, all the hoop-la about the naming contest.

and died with like 54 armor left

                    u can drop your armor

Drop armor? Why not rip it off their cold dead body?

Really though, when you die, you usually have around 30 armor left (assuming you get hit mainly in the upper chest).

And lets think about this a bit (keeping realisim in mind, assuming thats what you are looking for in this.) How are you going to "patch" your exisiting body armor (if you have any) and how are you gonna put on already damaged and shredded Body Armor?

Mmm I'm not sure if this would be a good idea. Think of it this way: in a combat situation, a highly-trained operative wouldn't put down or holster all their weps and stoop over a dead body for an extended period of time in order to remove their body armor, which was already probably damaged to begin with and therefore unreliable to protect one's life. I wouldn't be surprised if many people have thought of this at one time or another, but I really don't think it would be realistically possible.

Then again, it would be cool to have this option, simply to allow natural selection to play itself out.
