Hmm Pot, let me see, intresting subject.

No-one has EVER been Physicaly addicted to smoking pot.

      Mentally yes, Physicaly, NO.

Saying that it is a gateway for harder drugs is rubbish.

If you are unstable or have no will-power or cant make your own decisions, then maybe, but it is no more a gateway to harder drugs that having a cigarette or a pint of beer, meaning that it is upto the persons OWN choice or how susseptable they are.

Either way, Cannabis is non addictive and the world would be a far less violent place if it were as widely used as say, Alcohol.

There is just 1 thing i dont get?

      Wass all this 420 business?

Now what was thought of as a joke to rze has now blow way out of perportions... With this day and age of political correctness its still sad to see jokes interpeted as pro drug statments...

Lets just move away from the drug talk and more into the steam

4/20 = general slang for pot amongst Yankees.

So every April 20th tonnes of em meet up to smoke together and whatnot.

Here in Canada we do it on July 1st, we co-opt Canada Day into Canabis Day, lots of people out smoking in public everywhere.

            omg can anyone confirm this?
I have learned somthing pretty disturbing about VALVE and CS 1.4... They are having 2 communitys. One community that PAYS for anti-cheat protection. And on thats FREE, but doesn't have cheat protection. This is very sad if you ask me. This means that I guess Ultra Config is still going to be in business. The thing to this is, I am re-naming Ultra Config to '=ESF= Shield' We will move on to counter-strike 1.4 and there, we will make anti-cheats. BTW... |sz| R0xors
            it came from here:

Ahh, we dont have nothing like that in the uk, if we did it would probably be 24/7 :p.

That kinda blows goats about the 2 communities n stuff, if its true that is.

/me imagines 2 communities, 1 living teh good life up in the sun

and the other living in the sewers like in Demolition man.

The only reason weed was prohibited in the first place was it gave Texan authorities an easy way to keep Mexican immigrants under control in the 1920's (I get this from a documentary I saw on CBC, the Canadian public broadcaster). Then they said it would make you insane, then they said it you would get addicted to it like heroin, then (it's the 1980's now) they said "smoke weed and all sorts of bad things will happen to you ... we just don't know what they are." Now the latest excuse for prohibition is that its a "gateway drug", even though evidence suggests marijuana prohibition INCREASES use of hard drugs.

There's the aura surrounding marijuana because of what those D.A.R.E. assh**** told us when we were in elementary, but weed has, in reality, NEVER killed ANYONE...EVER unlike alcohol, cigarettes, Viagra, Acutane etc.

Weed has never been proven to cause any long-term affects to intelligence. And in my experiences with pot and my friends' use of pot (read: this part is totally my opinion and unscietific) I can say that pot is not addictive but it can be habit forming, just like chocolate or Counter-Strike. It HAS been proven to be highly effective in treating pain amongst those with chronic pain and terminal cancer. In fact, Americans are fleeing to British Columbia just so they can smoke weed for their pain without getting busted by overzealous American cops (see: http://www.cbc.ca/disclosure/media/020326_drugs.ram).

One more thing for those on the anti-pot side. If I'm not mistaken, when they legalized pot in the Netherlands usage went DOWN. So if you really want to get rid of pot that may be the way to go. Prohibition sure as hell isn't working out all that well for you.

Well, that's my bit. Rebuttals welcome.
I'm happy to see that not all ppl of USA are naive.

P:S: I'm dutch and we're doing a fine job over here.

Oh yea, weed has absolutely no side effects. The smoke your lungs have to filter and somehow translate into "air" has no effect whatsoever. It's as harmless as a knife in the hands of a mentally retarded person.

We're moving towards a system like yours, but unfortunately we're right beside the USA who think they can dictate our drug policy to us.

I think its unlikely Valve would roll this out any time soon, even if it is planning to do this at all. Cutting the CS community in half would be pretty stupid on their part, plus they can't really afford a boycott of CS:CZ from the l337 players now can they?

Even if this does happen, we low budgeters will adapt and survive. We have our own anti-cheat community which is way more on the ball than Valve's dammit!

Anyway let me restate that I don't think Valve would do this. Even though it MAY have a short-term benefit I think they can see that in the long run making a lot of your user base switch to another game is suicidal.

Perhaps a less offensive way for Valve to make money would be to have in game advertising that would change every round -- courtesy of Steam, of course.

I can see it now... CT spawn can have a Coke billboard, and Ts can have Pepsi.

i think ppl who take drugs should be allowed to get on with it i live in a very rife area for drugs but i beleive if you dont want to try drugs you wont and im sure rze wasnt intending on this being a major social debate.

Nesto, clearly the foreign object situated in your mouth makes it hard for you to determine sarcasm from factual statement. Take a second to think, and look carefully at the finishing simile, and you just might comprehend it.
