I have a brilliant idea for a cs map.
Have you ever noticed how no one ever gives an asspenny what happens to the hosties in cs maps? They are stabbed shot and blown to bloody pieces with equal malice by both teams. And good luck trying too find someone who will take them back to the rescue point! Cs_ maps have turned into big excuses for a dm!
Well, I say if its a dm people want, at least give it to them, in an interesting way.
Here's the idea:
The setting is a planetarium, where some sick twisted demented eunuchified terrorists have taken 4 hostages and placed them inside the mock up planets (1 per planet). A counter-terrorist team must go in to eliminate all enemy resistance, in order to rescue the hostages when all the t's are dead. Thus, the hosties become irrevelevant, but we can still get some good team play scenarios. There is no sense in holding particular points (unless they are good camp spots, that is). Why bother with the elaborate setup just for a dm? All cs dm maps suck my big fat hairy wang. There's absolutely not stratagey at all. Take fy_iceworld, for instance: its a box where people kill each other. Now we can get actualy dm teamplay *gasp*
Oh yeah and mappers ought to be able to limit the amount of certain weapons bought by either side (like 2 awms and 2 scouts for either side, etc). This would keep maps from becoming colt, ak, awm, aug, and sig fests!
