I respect x3 alot, i am also very jealous of them because i'm not to the point where i can earn money play playing a game. However, i don't think its about fun for them anymore. Has money tainted thier love of the game? Its a cop out to say "well.. since we won CPL we're a LAN clan now and our internet games don't matter." BS. LAN tourneys are great, but online is the backbone of CS, regardless of the INSANE cash prizes CPL is putting up. And any clan that can only play with 15-5 ping should not be reffered to as "the best." I still respect them, and they can beat me down online (definatly) but I am disappointed that they no longer care about the PLAYING of the game. that's my two cents.

Yes, the internet and LANs are very, very different gameplay. The internet has lag and connection/ISP problems, while LANs have perfectly, flawless net-speed on a fat pipe.
Yes, it does take some skill to use the netlag to your advantage, but it also takes skill to beat other clans in an even playing field, bandwidth and connection-wise.
I wouldn't think that this many clans would be able to become so good this quickly, so I'd have to vote with "X3 is in a slump", but I don't doubt for a second that they'll be back in playing position. I guess it's just the pressures of being superstars these days (well, relative to the CS Community) and with everyone tracking your every movement, I guess I would be irritated to be an X3 member who would be asked every two seconds if they "only play for money, and not fun" and that "X3 sux n0w nip si PWNAGE~!!!!111@@2", but I wouldn't quit from 1.4 either. They do seem to sound a little bit like whiny babies, but you have to also take it from their perspective.
In the end, what you and what they and what the uber-1337 clans say will mean nothing. If they are the true #1 clan, they will take their game to a new level. Show us what you're made of, X3. Bring it.Comment

x3 are a one of the best clans in the world , they just need to learn how to take defeat gracefully instead of , unlike the last match i watched them play where they got beaten and most of them left before the end of the match.

Ok, x3 owned the American CS scene, Americans were thrilled, no-one could beat this leet skillz0red clan.
Last time the nip guys were overseas they placed 1th in the Babbages cpl in dallas. Guess it was a blow to the American/US self image as the best.
But now the americans were cocky about how great x3 were, and cpl wc was coming up in dallas, but after a real exciting tournament it was NiP came out on top, and out of the top 12 teams, 8 came from europe.
Yet North Americans goes on about their x3 as world no:1, perhaps its the CPL world rankings were x3 is ranked 1st with a cpl LAN torney win and a second placing, and NiP is placed 2:nd (with four straight CPL LAN tournaments wins and a 4th place from their first one attended in Germany).
Is it ignorance or are north americans stupid when it comes to see whos worlds no:1 ?!.
Im not saying anything about north americans sucking at cs, just that they talk alot louder then they 'walk'.
If its true that x3 are quiting when 1.4 comes out its sad, I would really enjoy a rematch against NiP no matter what the outcome, the x3 guys has brought alot to the cs community and have amazing skill.
Oh and on a final note; Didnt x3 place 3rd @ tango invitational LAN ? (as the article doesnt seems to point that out)Comment

Is LAN different that online? Yes.
Do truly respectable clans suck it up and accept online matches as a legitimate part of the scene? Yes.
Is X3 such a clan? No.
Look, claiming that Online matches don't matter is about as retarded as a weak LAN clan claiming that LAN matches don't matter. Bitching about being "proven on LAN" is something you do when you're an HPB. None of these assholes are.
If yout think that LAN is the only type of environment that matters, then you're basically saying that the CPL is the only reason for playing. CPL=money over fun. You're also saying that it wasn't skill that allowed an online clan to beat you. And if THAT'S so, then how the FUCK can online games be considered practice? If something is as random as X3 claims online matches are, whats the point? The point, is so they can nurse their egos by crying sour grapes. They stagnated because their teamwork abilities are laughable while other clans moved forward.
So, X3 are basically being...how do you say.... primadonna fags. A group of bunnyhopping scrubs that have made a name off of playing like a DM clan, AWP railguns and all. A game where randomness rules over skill, and they have the nerve to act like this. They're CPL pets, nothing more. They're not half as valuable to the rest of the community as they think they are.Comment

end of the day the Europeans are the big fish in the CS pond so x3's slump is relatively minor news for the CS community. Obviously its a bit of a bash to the American's communities pride, I think the pressure of being Americas hopes and having to carry the country at CPL WC was maybe a bit much, especially when they lost.
Watch European demos, of the Clanbase Eurocup V for some really good CS action.

As for that guy who thinks Americans give a shit about X3 and they're a source of some kind of retarded pride for us i laugh at you. We have sense enough to not look at a bunch of kids playing a game as national heros thanks. Sorry to hear you're so proud of NiP as i doubt you personally know ANY of them. No American cares about X3 as if they're some elite group of cs players who represent all Americans. X3 is basically the Lakers/Kings (depending on who you think is gonna win). They have lost, but chances are one of them is gonna win the championship. X3 players aren't superhumans, other poeple have just the same opportunity to reach that level and many of the clans are reaching it.
And about playing for money i must go back to teh basketball analogy. Most poeple like to play basketball, many like to play it competitively. so whats wrong w/ playing basketball and making @$$ loads of money at the same time? thats what x3 is doing from what i see. anyone taht says they're dumb/cocky/whatever for doing it are just jealous taht they don't got the skillz to pay teh billz.
