csguard blows... i works somewhat but csguard uses cheat detection which has proved incredibly faulty in some cases and is not too hard to get around... CD uses a different kind of way to find hackers... its basically becomes a part of CS when you load it... hats off to CD... never seen a cheater in CD servers (im not one to accuse =P)... ive seen hackers in csguard AND false accusations in csguard... keep up the good work CD... csguard is doing decent i guess... prolly the best cheat detection out there but CD is the best cheat prevention =)

yeah CSguard blows me hard. I have a friend that gets into CSguard servers and hacks the hell outta' them. He uses a modded OGC though. I hate retards too... lol. They piss me off. CD wasnt really good either. I don't know what it did, but everytime I wentinto some server that had it, and I forgot to turn it on. After a few games I got banned for Aim Bot. Suspected only though!! No way am i cheating. But It was good when I had it on. Servers that had it didn't have any cheaters. SO I'm takeing the side of CD. CSguard was just a pos anticheat that they put out to get people to shut the fuck up for a few. Sorry for the language. I know you've all heard it before anyway.

CSG is better than nothing and I certainly commend olo, but from what I've read on the C-D forums (where System from OGC posts), C-D does a lot more in the way of disabling the aimbot. Generally, to hack CSG they get around it. They can't easily get around C-D and have instead attacked the auth method which can be changed quickly.

I don't post here much but this is one topic I have to reply to.

CSG is/wasn't perfect folks, nobody will deny that. But as with anything else in life, there are trade-offs for everything. The fact that our server did not require players to run a client was a huge benefit. Did we catch every cheater that came into our server, no. But the simple fact is, the typical cheater wasn't on the top of the IQ ladder, they would download it, but would never keep up with the new releases, as soon as we updated our CSG, wham, we had them. In the 3 odd months we have been running CSG, we have caught over 700 cheaters. In the beginning, it was 20-30 cheaters per day we were catching, more on the weekends. Now, we are lucky if we catch 2 a day. All this from a little known 14 player server that is only up from 3pm to 6am. I wish that there was some way to tell,

but if I had to guess, 50-60 percent of the servers out there are running CSG. You can't deny that CSG played a huge part in the death of OGC and I would also like to see it given the credit its due.

csguard has done a good job taking out some of the hacks but A) it sometimes makes faulty accusations B)People can still fairly easily hack even with csg... but at least you dont have to DL a hell of alot client side files like cd... in the end csg is more easy to use but is not as effective as cd

I dissagree with your statements here. There was only one release of CSG that had a problem with False-Positives and that was fixed within 2 days. Admins that kept up on the new releases of CSG had that fixed within 48 hours. Other than that, the OGC detection routine was 100% reliable.



As far as CSG easily being hacked. The only way a person could use a cheat that CSG detected and not get caught, was to modify it, and lets face it, that was a small group of people.
