    CS 1.4 Name Fix

Playing Counter-Strike 1.4 BETA and tired of seeing the retail names? Yeah, those names suck. It's a Desert Eagle, not a Night Hawk or whatever the craziness. Well just download 1.4beta-fixgunnames.zip and extract the files to C:\SteamCache\Counter-Strike\cstrike\. Thanks to pocketslob.net for the file.

is there ANY way to either use nextwish or custom sounds in 1.4? it's really pissing me off, I love the ghost recon sound pack and I don't like having to press b41, b6

Yeh I missed my binds as well, untill I twigged.

c:\SteamCache\Counter-Strike\cstrike just treat that like ur normal cstrike folder, Fu. :-)

You can't just copy the 1.3 one because there's extra text in there now that's not in 1.3

yep, but the confic.cfg and the autoexec.cfg works fine, so all my scripots work (thank god)

i installed the nextwish script to the \Counter-Strike\ directory because techinically it would be structured \Half-Life\Cstrike and nextwish's installer says to point it to your HL directory, and it installed find, but the fact is it just won't work for me... maybe nextwish will release something... or i'll just stop being lazy and write a buy script and toss it in my autoexec.

Nextwish Scripits worked for me both buy scripits and the retail name fix scripit.

I posted how I did this at my site. Very simple.

How do we put skins on 1.4? Since the directories are different from 1.3? The same place as this file?

I just did what Rizzuh said.. copy the .cfg files then I installed his program to the cstrike folder. Even though under controls in the menu I cant bind I still got all my old binds :)

Does anyone know how to fix the mouse acceleration problem on 1.4 - the command path thingy on 1.3 doesn't seem to work.

should make 1.4 so that no custom skins can be used... just another form of cheating. brightly colored skins etc..

Who really needs that stuff anyway? probably already people cheating in the beta...
