Anybody who gets banned from a server will get the CD Coder Generator for Half-Life off the internet
He is right, these cheaters dont go buying new games every time they get banned. Heck I didnt know there was a key generator out till I downloaded it off the myg0t website, lol. Ive already bought cs 2 times not because I cheat(ive never been banned anywhere) but because I got 3 comps networked together and my brother or freinds couldnt play so I bought another cs for the cd key. Sense I dloaded the generator I got cs on all three comps and 3 ppl can play at once and I didnt have to buy a third cs. Thank god!Comment

oh by the way Spike Spiegel, you dont need to reinstall and even if you did it woulndt ask for the key. You use regedit then change its value from there. I found this out because I installed the 1 cs retail copy on me and my brothers comps and we couldnt play together online because of the key. This was when I didnt know much about cs. So when I bought a new copy I just changed the key to the new one using regedit.Comment

he's right its not the cheat creators that suck. your beef is with the cheaters.
the best defence against cheaters is good admins for the servers. on the server i play on, there is almost always an admin on and they are very quick about banning cheaters. the result is, i rarely have to play with cheaters because they are quickly banned; instead i play with a tight community of players that just enjoy the purity of the game.
the server is at www.mycsstats.com for those of you in the seattle area that want a clean game.Comment

He just has a lot of ludricous arguments that can be easily destroyed if thought about logically.
The one about the Catholic bishop. If he actually did talk to one, I'm sure there's another one would say something completely different. Different bishops would have different opinions on these small things. For example, once I talked to a brother (usually someone training to become a priest) and he loved the Matrix. Even though it is rated R, even though it is a little violent. Matrix is probably more violent than CS. But it is entertainment. On these small issues people in religious life would have diff. opinions. Him using this as an example is stupid.
One of his argument I loved was when he stated that:
But most honest players also don't care! They spent a whole year playing the game, and they kill other newbie players with score like 30/0, ruining their fun, because no one likes to loose. Cheaters do exactly the same.
Now, sure, newbies don't like to lose to good players. But at least they know they're honest, and someday after some practice they'll be just as good as them. It is actually possible for these newbies to be as good as the honest players. But then cheaters come along, and kill everyone, let them be 1337ish or newbish. But neither a 1337 person or a newbie could ever be as good as these cheaters. Also, they didn't earn it. Again, another stupid example.
I could go on all day about this.
It does come down to the fact that CS is just a computer game and entertainment. But it's entertainment. People may not belong to a clan and not want to be in a clan. People may just want to relax or practice CS outside of a clan match or practice. This is what pub is for, and cheaters ruin this entertainment.
Let's say you have a favorite movie. Someone figures out a way to make all copies of that movie to suddenly become stupid except for a very very very few people. You would be mad! Some people may even swear at this person. You want your movie back the way it was, in all of it's glory, becuase you liked the entertainment it gave. Same thing about CS. You don't want someone ruining it by giving cheaters new material.
Also he says he likes watching people flame him, and then giving back arguments "to the stupid people. It's what I do for fun."
If that's true, I pity him.Comment

OK I'm a collegiate Religion major (Religion=Christianity, as I'm at a private school) and being someone who's dedicated their life to serving Christ this kind of stuff really gets me.By the way, I asked a few Catholic priests about cheating in computer games. They answered that these violent computer games were evil, they distracted the people from the God, the people who created, distributed and played such games should be stopped and the people who head off the players from the game did right thing and would be blessed. So if a cheater dislodges someone from the game, he deserves a reward.
Whether or not CS is evil or promotes evil is another debate with good arguments on both sides. However, I would strongly argue, on the basis of community/interpersonal responses as well as its unfair alteration of the basic nature of CS, that cheating is wrong. For instance, if someone cheats with the intention of either gaining an unfair advantage or disruption of nominal gameplay, I definitely see something very prideful and selfish in that.
Whatever the case, two wrongs most definitely do not make a right. This kind of rationale that Vasily quoted above is the kind that sends church people to blow up abortion clinics in the name of Jesus or that makes the KKK into a "Christian" organization.Comment

rizzuh, you of course realize that terrorism is world-wide and has been going on LONG before 9/11. Of course, being in Russia, he's also likely a lot closer to it than we are.
I'm not here to defend him, but it naive to associate all terrorism with 9/11. Keep your eyes open beyond American corparate press.
Russian citizens have just as much right as everyone to dicuss terrorism. It's also important that victims of 9/11 were multinational. Citizens from countries all over the world were unfortunate enough to be in those buildings.
It is by far not just an american problem alone.Comment

CS is violent, ok but so is CNN 24/7. Cheating =4 lamers! myg0t clan must DIE!
Melee I'm not sure you read my post entirely. I'm not supporting cheating at all, in fact I condemn it just as much as you do. And neither do I disagree with you as to the violent nature of CS...it's a bloodbath! All I'm saying is that I disagree with the viewpoint of the Catholic priests that Vasily put forth in that two wrongs don't make a right, something we were all supposed to have learned back in grade school.Comment
