hay, if you fire a LAW at a tank or a wall or a box or a snake or a bed, doesnt it cause an explosion no matter what? I mean, when it hits a hard enough surface to break that little wax safety seal on the front. It is a wax safety seal right? You know what, we better check with Randy again and make sure that the LAW they are putting into CS has the correct type of seal on the front that holds in the good stuff. I mean come on, this is a reality based mod for jebus sake.



Anyway, back to my point, doesnt it cause an explosion at least the size of an HE grenade? If so, then sure, firing a LAW at a group of enemies is gonna cause them to get hurt. Maybe not dead, but HE grenades usually dont kill either. You just want to be able to hurt them a lot. I mean after all, they ARE your enemy. They may LOOK like safe boxes, or walls, or snakes, but if you give them a chance and a lollipop, they WILL SHOOT YOU FIRST!



If I'm a terrorist, I cant exactly go to Wal-Mart and buy the exact kinds of weapons I need. (or can you now? has anyone even CHECKED to see if Wal-Mart stocks LAWs now? Someone needs to get on this, its important) Anyway, Im not a terrorist, but if I was, Id have to make due with whatever weapons the United Nations sells me. This is why I think that it will be ok if the terrorists can purchase a LAW.



Now I dont know if many CT teams in real life go in with LAWs to h@x0r a band of ruffians who cant even afford a volkswagen, much less something bigger that you would need a LAW to blow up. But the T's, well, they are just zany so I wouldnt put it past them to try to use a LAW to give them pesky CTs a headache or two.



And its how you use the LAW, I think, that is the important part. You see, you dont shoot directly at one of the enemies with it. You aim at the ground under their feet, or the box they are sitting on, or the wall directly behind them, or the snake in your pool, or the bed around the tree, this way you get some handy splash damage for christmas.



Terrorist buys a law, gets a safe distance from the action, and fires the LAW into a hallway entrance. The jelly-propelled water-balloon of hurt makes a b-line for the first wall it encounters and then POW! the group of CTs who were about to round the corner are bathed in a cleansing ball of fire and sparks and shrapnel and snake-guts. You prolly wont kill them, just like you prolly wouldnt have killed them with an HE grenade from 20 feet away. But you gave them quite a startle and a few lacerations to boot! Now THAT SMARTS! And you didnt even have to get within tossin range to do it! Now your buddies can go in and mop up the mess that remains. EW! SOILED BEDSHEETS!



Now lets stay realistic here shall we? Considering this is a Realism users group. Do I think that people will abuse the LAW? Yes. Just like with the OTHER three letter capitalized weapon in CS, people WILL find a way to abuse it once its released to the rabid masses. It will likely need to be tweaked to keep the game balanced and the weapon abuse to a minimum. I will be expecting that, and this way when it happens, I will not be disappointed. The rest of you will simply be forced to give it a try when the game is released and if you honestly think it will ruin CS for you, or if it actually DOES ruin CS for you, well, sux to be you. But I am putting my faith and trust into Randy & The Gang on this one and am sleeping in my CS:CZ pajamas each night.



---EDIT--- As a final thought, Id just like to add that while many people are comfortable with the amount of realism and/or balance in CS, there are always gonna be people who arent satisfied. I say, screw em. They are gonna be pissed anyway, might as well have fun with it. I say, make CS almost impossible for the T's. After all, in real-world combat, one side doesnt go, "hmm, do you think we should use grenade launchers? I mean, wouldnt that be a little unfair? They've only got machine guns and snakes. Lets not take the grenade launchers in, ok Ralph? Lets try to keep this balanced. Lets at least give them a chance to kill us."



You want realism? Theres your realism. Unfairness. Would you play CS then? Prolly not. So take your LAW with a spoonful of sugar and go to sleep you pussies. I got phone calls to answer.

I think if that poll you posted had some 1/2 decent games on it that are due out, jedi knight 2, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament 2 etc. instead of CZ and 6 other strategy type games it would be a different story, dont get me wrong, im looking towards CZ as much as the next man but that poll is a bit erm lets say crap.

And if they were to put in UT2, and Jedi Night Fever, and the like, the poll would then be dominated by the same TYPES of game. I think they know, of the FPS games out there, that CS:CZ is prolly the l33t3st.
