    More Pitchford interview goodness!

What better way to start the day then with an interview with Randy Pitchford on Halflife.nu. He's the president of Gearbox software, donchaknow, which is developing CS: Condition Zero. Here's a taste:
skalmanxl: To get to the core of the interview, how is CS:CZ's development coming along?

Randy Pitchford: Condition Zero is now feature complete. We’ve got some front end interface work to do and tons of polishing and play balancing. There’s also a few maps that are in their final stages of development. As all of the content is complete, we’ll be polishing a few things to internal quality standards before entering a more severe Beta phase with Valve and our publisher.
Looks like we'll be seeing CZ relatively soon! Read all about it.

You guys should be ashamed. DaveJ IS working on CZ and is a incredibly nice guy in real life. Just because he made dust, and it was so popular doesnt give you the right to act like assholes towards him. He's very talented and i think you should give him a great deal more respect than you do.

He spent a hell of a lot of time working on maps you take for granted, so stfu.

umm dude, 24 fps is what movies go at, and the average eye can distinguish around 60 frames idiot, some even 74, my dads an eye doctor, I know this stuff, otherwise i wouldnt argue about it. god damn.

platinum-clip, if there was no difference between 24 and 60 fps, why can i tell a difference?

Your incadescent light bulb flickers on and off at 60 hertz - 60 times per second. You don't see it though. Anything less and it would probably be noticable.

Different types of reflected light have different reactions in your cereberal cortex. Nonetheless, if the light were to move down to 30 hertz you'd probably notice a flicker.

Yes - you can notice the difference between 60 FPS and 100 FPS and 15 FPS. But most likely what you're noticing is the flicker difference between other lights around you and the monitor itself. Especially at higher frame rates that are still less than 60.

                        It's all horribly complicated.
