gaben is the director of the company, hes not responsible for what the game looks and plays like (which is what we all care about), hes the guy responsible for handling things like HR, profit, marketing etc, (ie the things we dont give a fuck about). the people really in charge are the programmers, texture artists, mappers, blah blah blah... the really hard working people.
He's a big wig at Valve yet he can only come up with his name as his password? And you trust this guy when he says HL2 is going to be amazing!?Fabio.cz wrote..
are u guys forgetting that GCFs can be just a bunch of empty space? its just windows sees them as huge GB size files, when actually theres no usable data in them. Nice trick valve.

they sure know how to keep the hype machine rolling, even though they constantly delay/mess up things.Comment

Ok two things.
First of all, I'm surprised nobody complained about Bittorrent (I don't mean in CS-Nation, I mean anywhere in general). In the old versions, Bittorrent did the EXACT SAME THING as Steam did in terms of file management in FAT32 parititions. In other words, you get the empty file that somehow takes up hard drive space. It was later that Bram implemented a better system for Bittorrent that the file only takes up hard drive space when you actually download. Why did I bring up Bittorrent (that nobody complained about)? Because Bram was also hired by VALVe to help develop Steam. I'm not too sure why Steam doesn't have the new file management system like the new Bittorrent has though. Perhaps Bram hasn't got around to that yet.
Second of all, since when did the word "majority" cease to exist in the English language? I mean, you don't have all of the audio and you don't have all of the models (not too sure about textures; you might have all of them). So I would say we're REALLY lucky if HL2 went gold this month. I guess you could crack the encryption, but that's about as fun as looking into a PAK file or something similar of a new game (as an example).Comment

PLEASE UPLOAD some high resolution images of your piece of shit graphics card in action. I'd like to make my own fansite, devoted to your lack of textures.
This is nice and all, but you CSN guys need to stop being so mean and critical on the POTD's. Heres a link about what I'm talking about:

Come on, its a good pic, something that I've never seen before, and you guys act like people should send in better pics!? What is wrong with you people....Comment

Yeah, but you forgot the FULL quote:
History has a tendency to repeat itself. If we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it.
No wonder you failed History, you noob.
There's a difference between a key and a password. Well, not really, but I think you know what I mean. There's no actual slot where you enter a really huge key to unlock HL2, that is.Comment
