way cool..even though i feel i pretty much know my way around cs and its many aspects..its nice to have a single place to come to if i cant remember something or if i just still dont know how to do something even after this long.....so i say thanks to exo, phrozen, NightHawk, and MikeJ for putting forth the effort and taking the time to put this thing together over the years....great work..its appreciated

For the last bleedin' time, 'skins' is an old Quake term... don't get newbies using it... I really wish you lot would stick to just calling them 'models', it saves alot of hassle later down the line.... they're not 'skins'!

Yes I'm damn serious. Do you how annoying it is when people ask for models in a skinning forum? And when people try and install .bmp skin files and expect to see a new model? If people would only use the correct words then it'd save alot of time and hassle.

We have a SOTD. That's why I call them skins. I kept referring to them as models and had to go back and change it to be skins for consistency. I'm sure you know, but most servers enforce consistency, so the models can't be much more than reskins.

Not neccessarily... I'm not 100% sure, but I think as long as the hitboxes are same, it will pass the consistency. For instance, the "Bender" CT, T, and Hostage models. They're obivously different models than the standard CS ones, yet they still work on all servers.

While yes, the vast majority of servers enforce consistancy, the only thing that usually stops is the use of P and W odels which are way outside the default hitboxes. The vast, vast majority of the time, forcing consistancy does nowt.

Honestly, whether you say "custom skins" or "custom models" everybody pretty much knows what you're talking about. Since both terms are used to refer to just part of the complete package, they can both be seen as incomplete. Afterall, what's a model without the skin on it? So "models" alone isn't really any more complete than "skins" is.

But seriously, who wants to say "download this complete weapon replacement package" or some lame term like that?

As far as the hostage sounds go, I'll look into it. Seeing as that review dates back to 2002, I'm going to guess that the radio directory is your best bet. I've had them working in my sound/radio directory, but I can check into whether having them in a sound/hostage directory works.
