lol cause u muppets dont understand the quality of written communication in PCGUK? That doesn't make them up their own arse. It makes them good journalists.
I can't be wrong, its been the best selling and most read/loved PC gaming magazine for years. Perhaps actually 'read' that little editorial section at the start that you so often seem to skip over, and perhaps you'll get more of an insight.Comment

Let me give you an example. They rated Quake Test as the best ever game in one of their top 100 PC games listings (this is going back about 8 years). This was despite Command and Conquer being out. Quake Test better than C&C??
Admittedly, I haven't read the thing in over a year.Comment

ukHazard, just because you liked C&C better than quake doesn't mean they did (and obviously didnt). There are around 5 of them who do the top 100, and they argue between themselves over which game goes where. Basically, some people found this an insult, some didn't. Its just the way it happens, it's very hard to predict such placings and get them accurately. Hence, the readers top 100 was born, this is where they said 'f**k it, you try it'. Looking at some of the readers top 100, its an utter mess.
Besides, if you feel an annual feature somewhat degrades the magazines appeal, you would be rather wrong.Comment

they rated it high because the quake engine was a revolution in 3d gaming. an engine that is capable of rendering a fully 3d world (unlike wolf3d and doom) in software on CPUs in those days (486 dx-4 100mhz -> pentium 75mhz) was a breakthrgouh.

First thanks Jord@n for the pics, very nice of you. ok ok, so PCGUK is equivalent of PCGamer here in the US and they find the single player mission of CZ a scripted jackass and gave it the generous score of 79% due to the multiplayer bots that we already get in beta 1.6.
Who amongst you are still going to buy it? I really having doubts now.. I knew the wind was blowing for the wrong way about a month ago with the start of bad reviews, one more nail in a coffin of CZ I say. All decked out for HL2.Comment

Two guys are working on this Realism Pack? ha. Keep your day jobs...
The new site design (compared to their old design I saw back in the day) sucks. Looks like a rip off of CS:Operator's (THE ultimate CS model pack) first site, mixed with a high school tech project.
As for the pack itself, I won't even waste my time downloading it if it's anything like 4.0. Only thing I liked there was the menu splash. Seriously, I'm not only ranting because I have a minute before I go take a shit, but mostly because I've been through the process and I know you can achieve alot more with ur resources. Best of luck in the future and update that goddamn deagle, everything doesn't have to be black!
PS -- My host for CS:Operator (www.crackr0x.com) went out of business, but I made a new simple site design and I'm thinking about a 3rd release. Holler if you wanna host and we'll talk. dsunmedia@hotmail.com ---
Also, nice work with CSN, I come back occasionally since I got tired of CS.Comment
