I think HL is a reason why people still have crappy computers.

HAHA, Hey now, those crappy computer, if they are able to play HL, they got enough power. I take crappy computers and put them into servers with cluster, so I get like 3 1.0Ghz and I get a 3.0Ghz server :)

        erm define crappy?

i for example have no need to upgrade my computer unless i see a need for it. so far there isnt a need. hence no upgrade.

Those ARE screenshots from the high quality version if I'm not mistaken.
Nope, they're screenshots from the low quality 30 MB version.

BTW: IT'S "TF2" as in "Team Fortress Two" and not "Team Fortress Classic Two."
              Good point.

this may come as a shock to you, but that is how the 700mb video looks like. pretty pathetic isnt it? for 700mb u would expect dvd quality or better.

It's from the 720MB gamespy high-res shaky cam. The best version available at the moment, unfortunately. Which is no surprise because last year at E3 this was all we had of half-life 2 footage until Valve officially released high-quality blink non-cam footage of the clips through steam. I imagine they will do something like that again for these new demos relatively soon... before HL2 ships at least

i personally wouldnt want to see the super mega high res version, weve seen so much to already spoil part of the game. there must be a sense of suprise still left in the game when it ships.

It's a bit confusing imho.. Is CS:S gonna be CS2 or not?

If you ask me I would call CS:S CS2.0 and work from that, forget a all new CS2.. Because all we as CS players want from CS2 is CS with uptodate graphics, physics, models and other new details/gadgets possible with the new engine, but with the classic CS2 gameplay, and imho that's exactly what CS:S offers us isn't it?

So no need for a all new CS2.. Because what will that be anyway? They can't change the basic gameplay or setup otherwise it simply won't be CS anymore, and therefor I doubt such a new CS2 would be as popular as the current CS (unless it's really better gameplaywise, but I doubt that is possible).. CS:S will be as popular if it's the same CS as we all know.. So just call CS:S CS2 and they're done.. They can then evolve CS:S/CS2 just like they evolved the current CS over the years..

I would also feel kindof cheated if they make me pay for CS:S and then maybe a few months later a all new CS2 comes out which I have to pay for again.. If that's the case I would just skip CS:S and wait for CS2.. Valve should just stick to the game CS and it's sequal CS2, and not make all these useless extra 'in between' retail versions like CS:CZ and CS:S (if that's the case with CS:S) imho..

Anyway, I'm excited CS is finally getting a real graphical and overall facelift/update soon.. Because you have to be honest, the old HL engine just doesn't cut it anymore after almost 6 years..

CS:S, and CS2 are two different things, as Valve is I think saying. The line of V.2 of everything is going to be different, I don't know, but I think its going to change and stuff. going to keep drulling at it :)
