Also Id like to see an sa-80 in the game, and an M-16- Both weapons which I feel to be better than the 5652 and aug, in reality...
m4a1 is an m-16 variant - too similar to include (that would be like putting an ak and a galil in - daft, huh?).

The sa-80 is too similar to the AUG really, except the sa-80 has a 4X scope as opposed to the AUG's 1.5X scope.

They'd also have to simulate all the jams and problems the sa80 has in real life too, which might put people off (for those of you who don't know, the sa-80 is a fantastic accurate weapon on a range, but as soon as you introduce any dirt to it, it wants to jam A LOT - not useful in battle).

Also, no CS team uses the sa80 - even the SAS prefer the AUG for its efficiency and deniablility. If an sa80 is left behind on a mission, it links straight back to British forces - an AUG could belong to a whole host of people.

I would like to see a decent sa80 skin though - Agent Orange's is disgusting and inaccurate. Having handled the weapon a lot, I know what it should look like and how the animations work, but I can't be arsed making a model. Any takers?

This is the same guy who has concluded from 4 screen shots that the new aztec's gameplay has been tottaly ruined.
If anything, i'm looking forward to the new aztec, i was simply ASKING (a while back may i add) would the gaps in the bridge affect rush play.

If they do we'll just have to adapt to it won't we.

ok mate I agree, and your handling exp? What reg? I was actually RAF VT at uni but eyesight meant I had to look towards RAFRgmnt duties... Got my marksman wth an L-98 and the 7.62 elephant gun Which Im sure would have awp like posibilities except theres no way anyone would go flying if they tried to fire it from shoulder height...

I have extensive exp with SA-80 and L-98 [cadet/single shot]versions of the weapon. I know it owuld really jam, but then as the awp proves there are elements of unrealism in the game..

Haha, deniability, this is true. Many teams that do work outside of their domestic ranges use weapons that have plausible deniability. If your country has a policy of assassinating enemies of the state (it's a pretty reasonable policy, when you think about it, removing those who cause problems instead of just killing hundreds of recruits who simply follow orders), then chances are you're going to want to deny your actions to avoid negative consequences.

[Edit: Section removed due to complaints.]

Of course, in CS, deniability, or even what real CS teams use, is kind of a pointless discussion, as neither is really that important to the game, beyond a certain point. Yes, we all want to pretend to be CT's, and carrying an MP5 or an M4A1 certainly helps us feel that power, but you can still feel like a CT using a UMP45, even if it's typically only used by police forces in a few areas. So in the end, does it really matter which specific guns are added, so long as they perform in a balanced, effective manner, and actually add something to the game?

I can just imagine it now...

"Actually, the British SAS use a RJT244 utility toolkit for bomb defusal, not a GDM409 multitool pack, and the SAS are better, so CS should have the RJT244!"

                          LOL

Man, I am kind of jealous of the guys getting to play with SA-80's and all that good stuff. My only playing around with stuff in CS would be the M4A1 and the AK-47. And yeah, semi-auto for both of them (odd that CS has full auto for the M4, instead of the typical 3-round burst). I suppose the AR15 is similar as well, but not technically in there. All the rest have been far removed from CS, mainly different handguns and various rifles (more of the hunting variety than the assault variety, heh).

As far as jaming goes, though, M4's (and from what I hear M16's as well) can be a bitch for jamming. Bloody AK is a wonderful gun that way, though, seems pretty damn indestructable, even when dirty or wet, rarely if ever jamming. The one I've gotten to play with could have used some help on the accuracy side of things, though. Good choices regardless for CS guns, imho, and we'll see how the new ones do. Pity I'm a mere civilian... no military experience to let me play with the real toys. :)

AWP is the most realistic gun in the game, all the guns could kill you in one shot. Look at the 5-7, took me 30 shots to kill sum1 once, and 11 of those shots hit (according to statsme, which in this case i beleive)

Would the AWP/M really kill you if it hit you in the arm or leg? (Serious question, I don't know).

Also, is the Para that bad in real life? Because its one of the most unbalanced weapons in the game, IMHO - its one of the most expensive weapons yet you'd probably be better off with an M4 or AK - or is this just the interface of the game which is not particularly suited to handling Mgs or summit?

Perhaps at some point they could add the ability to lie down to fire? Obviously speed would be heavily restricted and you would be vulnerable while getting up/down but it seems to work ok in BF1942. (if you ignore the obvious weapon problems of that game)
