Valve really know how to kill half the reason CS is still as popular as it is by stopping the useage of custom models

They are probably adding the new items to try to entice people to stay and use Steam (I've tried the beta and I'm sorry Valve, I just prefer plain old HL/CS - I'll keep playing though).

The CS Steam we play will not use a cache file. Custom models will still be possible.
