UKchaos wrote..Considering it is the epitomy of a noob-map, yes, it is doing pretty well in ranking... even though I hate it.
Of course i was joking, but 14th place isnt bad considering it isnt official.

Well this should shave down the that difference. I can't stand either dust or aztec. Hell I hated inferno until it was redone for 1.3. Those changes there really boosted my opinion of inferno to the point it's one of my top 10 favorites.
I doubt that, there's 10,000,000 minutes of play between themComment

Off topic a little but.....The thing I can't work out with CS is why new maps and change aren't more popular?
Part of the excitement (I would imagine) for special forces/terrorists in real life will be the unknown....what is around the corner.....will there be an ememy or not....am I going down a dead-end etc...
The downside of continually playing popular maps is that it diminishes the reality side of gameplay. Knowing every nook and cranny of a map leads to a more dominating game, yes, but makes you think less on your feet. We are all creatures of habit and I often find myself on autopilot. On a new map a whole new dynamic comes into play.
I always look forward to the release of a new map because you are all forced onto an equal footing for a week or two while we all get to "know" the map. Piranesi was good for that recently.
I know we can debate the issues between gameplay and reality but can't you remember the days when you first played CS and crept round in anticipation, with your sympathetic nervous system on full alert?
I liked that and it returns during a new map or a tweak....
Looks good Narby. Again you show why you are up there with the best.
I also collect oatmeal pieces that resemble Richard Nixon. Do you want to swap?!!Comment

that is the funniest thing ive seen in a while now
Dust has really gotten to the point where it WON'T retire gracefully. The map is the proverbial dead horse and the people playing them aren't happy unless they can beat it, fuck it, and give it a rigor mortis enhanced reacharound.Comment

It is impossible, given the known laws of the universe, for you to be any more of an ingratiating slut.
Looks very nice Narby. Inferno isn't a map that is so "classic" that changing it would be sacreligious. :) Glad to see a more pleasing feel to a very fun, well designed map. Looks like it may up being much of what Torn could have been, but wasn't.
And to DaveJ, I have to say, even if dust is considered overplayed, it is for a reason, and I still love the map. When I think CS, dust is always the map that comes to mind first. I wouldn't pay attention to people like mouth, who try to insult and criticize everything, no matter how good it is, just for the hell of it. Yeah, dust has a certain ugly element to it, but somehow it's exactly the right feel for the map.Comment

I love what you've dpne with the wall textures! The discolorations and chipped clay in some spots adds to the authentisism. Inferno just recently underwent the huge update and i'm glad you decided to give it a good look!
May i suggest labels for the bombsites like those in aztec? (you probably already have them and i am blind :) but if not they couldnt hurt!)
Keep up the excellent work!Comment
