Some of you may have had problems with VAC giving out false-positives for cheating due to hardware errors. Counter-Hack's Paladin-X contacted VALVe's Eric Smith about the false-positives, and Eric suggested this fix:
We've heard about false positives from a few people and have been trying to investigate the problems. Some of the problems have been caused by intermittent RAM/hardware errors on the clients' machines. If this sounds like something you'd want to try, download the 14.2k program from Counter-Hack, run it, and report failures to paladinx@counter-hack.net so that he can send results to VALVe.
Have them run the attached program on their computers for a day or two and let me know the results. It just does some RAM checks and reports any failures.
We're still working on this problem and will do what we can to resolve it. We don't want anyone to be falsely detected for a cheat.
