Not all of Europe has the same gun laws and in actual fact it's very diverse dpeending on the country.

Yes, there have been plenty of shooting incidents here in Europe over the past decade. Comparisons with the US are both pointless and unnecessary. For a start, if you are only including Western European countries, then that barely makes up half the landmass of the US, and probably even less of the population, so statistics aren't particularly useful. And if you then add the Eastern European countries, I'm pretty sure that the number of incidents would rocket a bit.



It's not the EU's place to tell the US how to run it's laws, and vice versa. We each develop our laws to how our respective countries work. I find (and this is in no way intended to be an insult) that the US tends to follow it's citizen's emotions more than the EU, for example.



I believe the argument (as rizzuh pointed out) which is being made is that CS certainly doesn't give you the technical ability to fire a rifle, but that it makes it easier psychologicaly for the killer to fire his weapon - thus it is a combination of both firearms training and social conditioning. Personally I think it would be easier (and more sensible) to control the access to the first than attempt to control the second (which pushes government slightly closer to a police state).

i AM Certainly not a liberal or a commie matey. And interesting the comparisons per capita i.e gun to person and crime per person ratios are SIGNIFICANTLY higher in the US than many, many other countries. The difference between the US and Eastern European states, is that they are just embracing brand new freedoms; which they have not had the fortune of 200 years worth of history to grow and develop upon. The US has had that time, and seems scared to deal with the issues. Yes I say deal with the fucked up people. So make your education and health free for a start and move onwards to a socially conscious state rather than the apathy that reigns today. Problem is most people don't give a shit. And the problem is that disease which is commonly known as Globalization or Americanisation is robbing even the historied poeples of Europe of their cultutral identity. If we look back at historic civilisations we can see it is only a matter of time before the hegomonising force that currently is the USA, (previously Egyptians the Greeks, Romans, the Norse, Mongols etc...) Will eventually succumb to the barbarian outsiders, and those barbarians, shall become the civilisation, of hte new future and so on. So why fight the ineveitable? Just give up now..

I think the point has substantially been agreed upon, That CS does not provide appropriate weapons training. But may condition a mind to feel no remorse etc for killing...

And how exactly does an ex-ATC UAS member know what it takes to be a police officer? The level of knowledge I display is taught to ANYONE who has attended any Home Office information and presentation courses in firearms as part of his/her job. What I have quoted here is taught as per Home Office guidelines. However I suppose when an immature person comes up against someone who has some knowledge that they can`t match, it must be easier to call them a nutter then it is to admit that they might be right.

To say that you are or were an Officer Cadet, your level of spelling and grammer is appalling to say the least. In fact I would go as far as to say that it is laughable. Well, now they think they've got the right guy(s). Shooting from inside of their cars trunk it seems. Jamaican immigrants, nothing to do with the middle east at all. Was using the civillian version of the M-16. Why in the world a civillian needs or should be allowed to have an assault rifle is beyond me. Self defence aside this thing is for killing people quickly, defending yourself with this is a bit of overkill isn't it? He didn't learn anything from games at all. He was a professionally trained sniper, trained by the one and only US government.



P.S. Double checked, estimates are anywhere between 2,000 - 8,000 civillian casualties from October to February when over 18,000 bombs were dropped and a possible 20,000 deaths resulting from military actions.

cs doesn't teach you anything on how to shoot a gun. i imagine (just guessing) the majority of the media have never even shot a fire arm before. if they did they would know you can play cs all you want but without practice at the range you will not get better with your weapon. and for the 1 guy who said putting a scope on a rifle makes it more accurate hes full of shit. all it does is enlarge the target it DOES NOT make it more accurate. in other words, the media has no idea what there talking about

You can't honestly say that you trust Bush as a leader. The man's an impulsive egomaniac. No one in the history of warfare has had the audacity to ask where someone's military instillations are when they've made it perfectly clear that they're going to attack them no matter what.
