The people who have steam now won't be able to beta test 1.6. You have to download the Steam 2.0 whe it comes out and register a brand new account to test 1.6.

    "Inferno

Narby's de_inferno has been updated with improved textures and some minor big fixes."

    Isn't that a contradiction.

I know it's meant to say bug.

Errr I mean the Steam 2.0 and CS 1.6 beta where delayed to mid December last I checked.
I heard it was gonna be released on December 2nd. A CS forum mod said that is what Cliffe had said. Would be nice.

Would also be sods law as that is the day I start work (and Minority Report is released on DVD) - so according to sod, it will be released then.

How do you connect hltv , can it be done individually fro movie purposes?

I see I have an exe file for it in my cs folder but have no idea if it is independent of cs or not, Im guessing that I oculd havbe full footage from a scrim or staged scene inorder to look for the best angles....
You can do a number of things with HLTV. First if you want to connect it to a server you have to do the following:

          1. Double Click HLTV.exe (duh).

          2. In the dos window the command to connect is:

          connect ipaddressgoeshere <enter>

          3. You can name your proxy by:

          name "proxyname" <enter>

          4. If the server is password protected:

          serverpassword serverpasshere <enter>

          5. To start recording:

          record "demoname" <enter>

Hope that helped. It's better to run it off the server itself. If running from a local machine, the connection to the Internet needs to be stable and decent otherwise spectators lag like a bitch. To answer one of your direct questions, HLTV is an addition to Half-Life and is independent from CS. Meaning you can run HLTV and play at the same time.

Or you can have servers like AoWC that clog up their machines with so many servers with a good connection and we still experience lag from hell.

thanks matey!! Yeah, I gues sthe reason Im looking to use hltv, is to get a full spectrum of cam angles in a staged setting or a scrim, so that the hltv, demo will enable me to choose. Rather than setting up complicated camera angle and tracking scripts, at least that is the idea.. feel free to tell me if im wrong anyone, and thanks again!

either way, I think that a more stable/reliable demo system would be best... starting with not freezing at the start of recording ....
If you record while someone is using the mic, you will freeze.

Does that mean that you need to record audioseperately????? This soudns quite important to me. Oh and by the way, one month today and Xmas will be OVER!! think on that, time is running away from us all. we need more cs NEWS I feel starved.

I must have spent a good day looking at the screen awaiting seom new news after this topic. And it coems when Im asleep,!

I think (though I'm not sure) that xep meant that starting a recording while someone was talking over the mic would cause that recording to freeze at the beginning upon playback. So (if I read that right) simply wait until people shut up for a second before you start recording.

Nice to see HLTV bandwidth being reduced. Between the FB bug, improper reload/etc animations, and no zoom, there are a few annoying issues with HLTV. Hopefully all will be resolved soon.
