1st January is New Years Day, eve means the day before.



Christmas isn't necesarily a Christian holiday they hijacked it afterall from the pagans, Dec 25th being a British celebration thing hundreds of years before Christ was supposed to have lived. And allot of non-Christians/non-pagans celebrate Christmas too nowadays as its not a religious holiday more a national holiday



Boxing Day is another British festival celebrated in all British colonies (Canada, Australia, New Zealand) except for America.

Also, yes Christmas is a Christian holiday. If it weren't we'd call it what the pegans called it. I agree that it's more of a general holiday, simply because most people are Christian. In Muslim countries it isn't celebrated, for example!
